    GI275 question

Appreciate the comment, Ryan. Parked on level ground, the 275 shows a 5 degree pitch up. In level cruise flight (VSI=0) the 275 shows 5 degrees pitch down. Seems to me to be a pretty huge difference. I have a call in to Garmin support now. We'll see what they say.

    GI275 question

Thanks. Yes, I have a picture showing the pitch 5 degrees below the horizon line in level flight with VSI=0. I'm also going to call Garmin before going back to the avionics shop. Interesting, I couldn't get the nose on to the horizon with VSI=0 unless I powered down to 16 inches. At that...

    GI275 question

Sorry for the resurrection of this thread, but it still might be relevant, especially to my issue. First, yes, I understand that pitch relative to the horizon changes based on airspeed. In fact, these pitch settings are used for various phases of instrument flight. I recently installed...

South Carolina Breakfast Club 8/18 @ Triple Tree SC00 NO excuses attendance mandatory if you live in the United States not just for Southeast peeps

Aug 18? That sounds pretty good. Just an hour flight from northside of Atlanta. I'll pencil it in. Gives me plenty of time to dodge thunderstorms on the way back.

    Best prep for IPC?

Yep, absolutely right. Just make sure to pick a ground school that isn't focused on test-prep only. There are a lot like that so make sure to pick a comprehensive program.

Altitude Directives in VFR Flight Following

You can always request a higher altitude. I don't think controllers are in the habit of issuing arbitrary altitudes. If you were told to stay below 3,000, there was probably a reason for it.

Instrument Rating Ground Course Recommendations? CFI Lament with Inst Pilot Rating Student

Don't purchase any ground school program without trying it out first. There are massive differences. Here's the free test drive at Gold Seal: GroundSchool.com/instrumentpilot And if you're an instructor, you can join for free with full access. Student monitoring and paid commisions built right...

What is the best way to study for the Instrument Written Test?

It's not supposed to be a case of one or the other. Shepard's "method" includes taking a full ground school before starting to use their software. Take a complete ground school first, then move on to Shepard if you wish.

Percentage of questions by topic is published in the PAR ACS. It's still the luck of the draw what questions you'll actually see. The FAA stopped publishing the questions/answers in 2008 so no one has a complete and current list. They are changing questions and answers agreesively these days, so...

How much money should I expect to make in the industry??

Growth has been shooting up the GA 400 corridor for 30 years now. Dahlonega used to be a sleepy tourist town in the Blue Ridge foothills, but even it is becoming urbanized now.
