    Bahamas Fly-Out Roll Call

Correct. I have processed them myself both in person in the Bahamas and from the states. From the states it is around $70 by the time you send the paperwork FedEx. It also takes about a month or so if they don't misplace the paperwork. In person from the Bahamas it took me 6 days from the...

    C441 real world range

    2000nm legs in a 441? Seriously? I've done 1600nm in a C560XL and it sucked at FL410. 3.5hours with a heck of a tailwind. I couldn't imagine trying to do 2000nm non stop in a 441. This is coming from a guy who owns a 421C and a 310Q...

Looking for opinions and options for a light twin comparison - 310Q, BE55/58 or Seneca?

We are also comparing operating costs too. The fuel burn alone on the 421 is about 20 gallons more per hour.

Looking for opinions and options for a light twin comparison - 310Q, BE55/58 or Seneca?

We have thought about this as well but want to be able to include all of the partners for the fun cost sharing experience that having 2 planes brings. Since I had a Cherokee 6, I like the idea of a Seneca but I am not sure it hit's the needs. Anybody have real world specs on a Seneca 2?

Looking for opinions and options for a light twin comparison - 310Q, BE55/58 or Seneca?

Since I acquired the 421C with a couple of partners, my 310Q has flow a bit less this past quarter. I still have the 310Q (that I own outright) for sale but while doing some brain storming with the partners, I mentioned adding my 310Q to the partnership to provide a slightly more economical...

    Aero Commander twins pros/cons

I looked at them when trying to decide what 6 seater twin twin to buy. First thing I did was make a spreadsheet of all of the aircraft that I was considering. I compared the 310, the Aerostar, the Aero Commander (Shrike and non Shrike) and the Beech 55 and 58. My first hurdle was the need...

    Can a STC be removed?

The Cherokee 6 has a seventh seat STC which is actually an STC to remove it. Thankfully it is a free STC. "All a PA–32 owner needs to do is receive a copy of the supplemental type certificate (STC) and letter of authorization from AOPA that allows certain PA–32 models, certified with an option...

Is it legal to accept payment for training if you don't sign a log book?

I'll muddy the water even more for this discussion... Several years ago we took delivery of a new aircraft. Shortly after delivery, we found out that when the autopilot was tracking the RNAV inbound it would suddenly turn a hard 90 degree turn and then rejoin the approach when inside the FAF...

    Helicopters on this forum?

Nap of the Earth - i.e. low level flying. The Hughes 300/ TH55 is accommodating to pilots up to around 6'7". Lateral CG in them might be a bit of an adjustment but you will not be forward CG.

What to take into account when planning flight for a single pilot under part 135?

I fly SPIFR part 135 and have done so for the past 16 years or so. There is zero difference in flight planning. The biggest difference is realizing your autopilot is the PF and YOU are the PM.

Failed my first opportunity to solo

In more than 2000 hours of IP time, I have never told a student when they were going to solo. My normal "speech" is to ask the pilot how they think they are doing. Normally will reply that they feel good and are confident. My response is typically "good, because your scaring the crap out of...

2-pilot crew ("dual Captains") - logging "Signing" PIC vs "sole manipulator" PIC - Part 91/135

Did you hear the one about the Rabi, and a priest walking into a bar? Nevermind, it wasn't accurate

2-pilot crew ("dual Captains") - logging "Signing" PIC vs "sole manipulator" PIC - Part 91/135

So, if you have an SIC type rating but happen to be flying in a Citation 560 with a pilot who is qualified as a single pilot in the C560, if you are manipulating the controls then you get to log PIC time right.... What if he was under the hood?

Foreflight “need xxx space to decompress”

At work I oversee our EFB program (A061). We have some EFB's running iOS 12.5 on Foreflight. I think I have had to figure out every trick in the book to keep things running.

Foreflight “need xxx space to decompress”

Easy fix. Go into downloads and select the red delete button. Then select "delete expired." If that does not work for you, make sure you have worldwide terrain or high resolution terrain turned off. Retry it after that.
