What’s the going rate for a multi now?

I’m looking to do some side work and have zero clue what the true going rate is for multi time. I have called around to several places that have some type of training twin and the rates vary from $275/ hour up to $500. Cue the “back in my day” story…. When I got my multi years ago as the...

Talk Me Out of a Cirrus

Not necessarily. Unless you wanna wear oxygen, those flights are going to be a few and far between. The difference between a flight at 9000 feet and a flight at 15,000 feet does not yield that much more true airspeed and the wind gradient between those altitudes is not that significant. My...

Talk Me Out of a Cirrus

In the Lance you will get there about 5 minutes later than in the Cirrus but you won't have to make two trips to get all your stuff there. Keep the Lance.

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

If you are at OSH, PLEASE stop by the Bahamian government tent and voice your thoughts on the crazy fees that they recently implemented for aircraft coming and going into the Bahamas. GA costs have tripled almost overnight!

    Best prep for IPC?

No issues with the time. The issue was doing it over 2 days. That’s the crazy part. Do the ground, then go fly. Simple as that. I have done an IPC for pilots with just an hour of ground and an hour of flight. I have also initially declined to sign off an IPC on a guy who had just...

    Best prep for IPC?

Not going to kick on your friend, but that is just plane (get it) crazy! 2 days to do an IPC?! We do 135.297 checkrides in less than 4 hours including ground and air opeations and that is darn sure comprehensive. When I conduct an IPC we start by going over instrument questions that the PIC...

Download a copy of the A and B patterns and go out and fly them with a safety pilot. That will knock some rust off.
