    Redneck Pilot Strikes Again

Wow! Thanks for all the positive comments, Y'all. I'm glad it went over well. I gotta be honest, I wasn't convinced that one would be so well recieved. Several hours for sure. Thanks Buddy. I know you know what it takes, so I 'preciate the props. Also, I'm very glad you said "up" in...

    Potato Guns

Interesting. We tried propane once and the resulting shrapnel nearly disembowelled my bro-in-law. What is your secret?

    Potato Guns

As the unofficial PoA spokesman for flying Rednecks, allow me to offer some things I've learned in tater gub makin'. Materials At least schedule 40 PVC. Schedule 80 is preferred, but not necessary if you stick to less volatile propellants. Stay away from standard wall PVC. Trigger Mechanisms...

    Gas...how low can it go?

And I would add that those of us in the industry, and/or living in O&G producing areas fully understand, expect, and accept the cyclical volatility that is part and parcel of being involved with it. We understand it much more than anybody, I would venture. However, it's double whammy that is...

    Gas...how low can it go?

What SoonerAviator said. It's just difficult to see folks happy about something that is going to be devastating to so many in my community, the community itself, and so many around the country. It just sucks all the way around. I didn't mean any offense and didn't mean to imply anyone should...

    Gas...how low can it go?

I don't disagree. However, what you speak of has been a long slow transition over the last 40 years or whatever. This is sudden, unexpected, and causing thousands to lose their jobs on a near daily basis across the country. Just driving through town this evening, I took note of the fleets of...

    Gas...how low can it go?

Enjoy the cheap gas. Just remember, for every dime you save on a gallon, it's likely that a couple thousand of your countrymen lost their job.

    Rough River Kentucky Fly-in 2020 - April 23-26

I'd say we are in play it by ear mode right now. Like Bry, getting the kids looked after may be a problem for us. I just don't don't know right now. I do know that all this virus business really sucks arse.

    Tiger King, WTF?

Wow. Thanks. Sounds like you have plenty of experience with being small of mind.

    Tiger King, WTF?

Dude, I refuse to watch that crap!!! Joe Exotic is a household name around here, given that he's only about 30 miles down the road, but he is absolutely not well thought of. I am inconceivably ashamed that the people of the world will be associating this psycho with my fair state. I'm quite...

My employer is asking employees to live in camp for four weeks

There was no revolt over this? Sounds freaking asinine to me, but I understand just trying to make a livin'. Good luck.

The “what I did during quarantine” thread

Well, I would go flying, but I ain't seen the sunshine since I don't know when. Life has been pretty much completely normal here so far since we were on spring break last week. I suppose it's a little different this week with the kids starting school work at home. Today was the first day I...

How much toilet paper do you need?

1 visit per day? Need more fiber.

How much toilet paper do you need?

Yes, it's very much like a bale of hay in terms of shape and size. Hence the use of the term. Surely your imaginations were able to fill the gap there. You know, the big bulk bundles of TP, like at a big box store. Catchin' my drift?

How much toilet paper do you need?

We bought a bale of TP in like January. Me, the wife, and three small boys, and we still have a few weeks worth. I'm struggling to understand why anyone would need more than one or two bales right now. Are we preparing for never having TP again, or do people just use an insane amount? I...

    Building a hangar

Yeah, I can't imagine either. In our case, the city wants access to the grant money available if we get more tenants, but won't put up the money for the 5 additional hangars necessary to get the tenants, despite having a waiting list for as long as I can remember.

    Building a hangar

Our City Manager has offered leases for $1 for anyone willing to build a hangar, lol. In our case, however, the goal is to get more people based on the field to make us eligible for more federal fundage. Tiny airport in a tiny town. I would imagine this type of lease is not the norm. ;)
