PC-12 Crash In South Dakota, 9 dead, 3 survivors (CFIBlizzard?)

What would cause the turbine motor to quit? And that field looks pretty flat, you would think the pilot could have landed it when the engine quit. The report also says it sat outside overnight and someone else said there are no services there. With that heavy snow could it have been iced up...

Where to get complex time in So Cal??

Check with your insurance. They may have pilot limitations on your plane as you have no complex time and will dictate how much time in type they will require.

Commanche down in San Antonio, Dec 1, 2019

Wow, I have flown in this plane. My father in law owned this plane for years, he did a complete restore of it and spared no expense. He sold it in 2013 I believe.

    Getting insurance after a crash

I don’t have insurance to cover to plane. I have insurance so if something goes wrong my family isn’t living in a cardboard box after.

John F Kennedy Jr’s style was sloppy

His CFI called him before he departed and said he wanted to come along and didn’t mind hanging out for a few days. JFK told him no, he wanted to do it on his own. That right there is the first chain that could have easily been broken if JFK did not have a macho attitude. Sent from my iPad...

John F Kennedy Jr’s style was sloppy

If I remember the report correctly he had about 30 hours in that airplane, of that he had less than 3 hours without a CFI. And he didn’t even have an hour of night time logged in the plane. He wasn’t night current to carry passengers.

John F Kennedy Jr’s style was sloppy

His CFI told him he wanted to tag along, JFK said no, I want to do it myself. JFK had a broken foot in a mobility boot. He could not even climb into the plane, he had to sit and slide backwards up the wing to get into the seat. He had at least 2 chances to divert safely. He chose to keep...

I live in SoCal, she’s a solid 4 and flabby. Could use her forehead as a alternate landing site.

I love when big companies think they own the rights to things, like the word venture. I laugh all the way to bank as they throw money at a non problem thing like that. Easiest money we can make.

Cirrus SR-22 crashed into house, Upland CA. KCCB Airport.

He came south of KCCB, just East of KPOC under the KONT shelf so he was 1,000-1,300 AGL most of his flight in this area trying to make a left downwind. Flying into KCCB is deceiving as you said, terrain slopes up and your visual references are all off if unfamiliar.
