[NA]Microplastics; the latest thing to worry about.

Research group: we believe that X may cause Y for Z physical reasons, but it could also be explained by A so further study is needed. University press office: New finding! X may cause Y! Mass Media: scientists prove that X causes Y and why that’s concerning! Find out more at 10 Fringe media...

    chronically low vacuum indication

That’s exactly what my derivation is. It’s a constant stagnation pressure (isentropic and no work performed) area reduction. I took it as a given that the geometry was not changing, just the aircraft speed (and again I’m ignoring prop effects which may be significant, but I disclosed as much in...

    chronically low vacuum indication

The pressure differential scales as the velocity squared so half the velocity will produce a quarter of the pressure differential or 5.6” / 4 = 1.4”

    Hitler rant parodies on Youtube

Humor is part of how communities and societies heal. There are ways to make good jokes about even the most serious of subjects. You know you’re healing when you can start laughing again.

    Walmart drones are here.

Soon enough we will have drones flying overhead blaring ads at us like banner pullers but 10x worst.

    RSV vaccine

The vast majority in the scientific community have no interest in being politicized. I know many people working in climate science, biomedical research, and beyond. They hate that their work has become a political football, not least because it means their important work gets jerked around...

    RSV vaccine

6-7 is not that uncommon in Europe where undergrad is generally 3 years and PhDs are more reliably 4 years like they were in the US decades ago. In the US, 4 years to PhD after undergrad is rare and 3 years is basically unheard of now. Average is 5 for most departments, but bio especially is...

    RSV vaccine

Most inaccurate thing on that one is studying only 6 years through PhD. Try more like 9-10, not to mention that a lot of the pharma development is done by MD/PhDs so more like 12. Wish I could have finished my PhD after only 6 years…

    RSV vaccine

The “covid debacle” of us producing safe and effective vaccines and distributing them nationally, if not globally, on a timeline never before seen?

    Alaska Airlines explosive decompression 1/5/23

Then why use the word “if” (as HalfFast said)? Either the documentation exists or it doesn’t. Say whether it does or doesn’t. The statement as written doesn’t say “the documentation doesn’t exist therefore we aren’t being uncooperative by not sharing it”. It currently says “we wouldn’t be...

    Alaska Airlines explosive decompression 1/5/23

That is the most brain dead, say nothing statement ever. Thank you Boeing for literally just defining “undocumented” lol

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Interesting thanks! Out of curiosity is that true for fixed wing like fighters as well?

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Interesting. On base are they just left doors unlocked and ignition keys in or is there a procedure for getting the keys?

Man who crashed snowmobile into a parked Black Hawk helicopter suing government for $9.5M

Dumb question perhaps but do blackhawks have keys? I presume they must have had some way of locking up, like a throttle lock or something, but do blackhawks have keys natively? I assume not? Seems like a bad idea if you’re on deck to scramble fast. “Sorry sarge I left my keys in the barracks…”
