Disney Perm Flight Restrictions going away?

And beaches too which are ground zero for banner tows. I don’t like banner towing either, I find it invasive and gross, but we should be consistent as to whether and where it is allowed, not leave it up to which private entity has the deepest pockets and political sway (which is basically a...

Disney Perm Flight Restrictions going away?

Last I checked the airspace above Disney is not owned by Disney and is public property. Just as people are free to protest Disney outside its gates on public property, they should be allowed to protest in public airspace if that is their desired avenue.

Disney Perm Flight Restrictions going away?

See my previous post about density. You could make some nominal argument about safety at least for stadiums (again not saying it is a persuasive one). Disney can make no such argument. Also stadium TFRs are exactly that, temporary for game day. Disney had a “permanent” TFR and the Bushes have a...

Disney Perm Flight Restrictions going away?

Disney world has on average 60,000 people in it and covers 39 square miles. That’s 1500 people/sq mile. Half of the land isn’t used yet apparently so double it to 3000 people / sq mile. That’s still just under a third of a place like Staten Island. We don’t see an enormous TFR over all of Staten...

Disney Perm Flight Restrictions going away?

No pros. Straight up regulatory capture. Is there any other corporation that gets that treatment? Not that I’m aware. Get rid of it and get rid of the Bush P-areas as well. Why should they get permanent P-areas anymore?

Remote Tower test at JYO (Leesburg, VA)

Yeah it was weird. FSS was giving traffic alerts/status reports but had no operational control/authority. Definitely confusing for a low time student. I basically had to ask “do you clear me to land or…?”

Remote Tower test at JYO (Leesburg, VA)

When was that? Back in 07 when I was training at N51 I remember doing a student xctry to Millville and being somewhat confused as to the status of the FSS on the radio. Did they also do a remote tower pilot program later?

    Moving To California

California is one of a handful of states I have lived in and would be willing to live in. The majority of the country is a hard no-go for me.

Just completer my first Pilots N Paws mission

It’d be hard for me to fly PnP as I’d want to take all the dogs home instead of handing them off!

FAA Article on Laser Illumination Events

Maybe they keep confusing planes for the rescue craft and are trying to flag them down. How do you spell SOS in Martian Morse code? :)

    Well, this seems likely illegal

Agreed but I do love PnP for getting vulnerable dogs to new forever homes. Often they would be otherwise killed. Every dog deserves a good home.

Proof is left to the person making the claim. That is their burden and theirs alone. There is a purple elephant on the far side of the moon. There is data out there. that’s equally credible to what you said (I.e. not at all as no evidence has been given).

    Entrepreneurial nostalgia from childhood

Also a lot more activities are expected of kids to climb the schooling latter, especially in affluent areas or families with heavy focus on education. Gotta do those music lessons, prep classes, gifted and talented program to get into the Honors/AP/IB classes in freshman year of high school...
