Very sad for the owners based at OMA. Unfortunately, it impacts us all as well, as losses to GA aircraft due to weather events and mishaps will continue to drive the insurance rates higher and higher.
Wow! 4-7K for an annual. I’m at $1000 for the basic annual inspection. If any other work then more, but I have never had more than $2100, and that additional was for some cowl metal work.
The best evaluation tool I used was one that Trade a Plane from, NAAA. You could actually input all the various avionics as well as engine, airframe, paint, and interior info.
