Chinese Spy Balloon Flying Over the U.S.

I think China already knows more than enough...put a couple holes in the balloon and let it settle to the ground. US citizens are threatened with deadly force if they get too close to military installations, but if you fly over with a Chinese balloon I guess it is ok.

    Sun-n-Fun - WHAT NERVE!

EAA members have always received a discount at the ticket booth...like $10 per day discount. If you stay several days, you should join EAA. I don't know if they honor more than one discount...probably not. I suspect if someone wants to rent a display booth for the entire event, they will...

Chinese Spy Balloon Flying Over the U.S.

Why didn't they shoot it down before it reached the US ? If we can't handle a simple issue like this, it speaks volumes about how we would respond to a real invasion.

Latest iPad Pro Vs Air? - 2022 Models

I have been using a 9.7 ipad for years. I built a custom mount using a spring loaded RAM mount on my control wheel. It does not cause me any problems and is easy to access in rough air, plus it is easier to read than the mini for my old eyes.

    Battery Contactor Questions

Over voltage protection is normally a job for the voltage regulator. I see nothing wrong with the two diagrams with breakers. Most failures I have found are either open coils, or bad contacts after many hours of use. Most installs are like your first diagram...just saw mondster's post...I agree.

Cessna 172M - Carb temp greater than OAT

I tried to look for info online for the carb sensor for the gea 24 . I saw one ad that kind of threw me because it looks like a pic of a thermocouple and k thermocouple wire. The other pics I saw were thermistors rated at 100 ohms @ 0 C. I agree with mondster about checking accuracy. I would...

    Dear auto manufacturers.....[rant]

Somebody told me the reason they drink warm beer over in England is because Lucas built the refrigerators. I still miss my old TR-3..:) My wife's 2015 LaCrosse warns you not to read the screen while driving...it posts this message on the screen while you are driving.

Fuel going from one tank to another while parked

The original post leaves me wanting more info. Did the pilot look inside the fuel tanks after landing to confirm levels after the short flight, or only a few days later. Were the fuel selectors turned off after the flight ? If not, what position were they in after flight ? We have not...

I was told yesterday that food deliveries were being received and the opening was to be in a couple more weeks...early February. I hope what I heard was correct.

    Sun 'n Fun 2023

You obviously never camped at Sun N Fun . We are talking about jet transports taking off all during the night. The airport was closed at night in the past.

    Sun 'n Fun 2023

Since KLAL is an Amazon hub now, I wonder how many flights will interrupt your sleep if camping. I used to like Sun N Fun back when you could purchase fresh strawberry shortcake at roadside stands near Plant City, and pick up oranges on the side of Drane Field Road next to the airport.

    Sparkplug Socket

I think Stewartb was suggesting to use a box end instead of a socket. On my plane, a box end will work in an emergency. Edit: my box end is offset , like Dan posted...be careful not to damage fins...snug is better than guttentight.

Rotator Cuff Repair w/ Bicep Tendonesis

Depends on the damage. If the muscle is torn completely, do not wait before getting it repaired. I had to wear a sling for 6 weeks, then it took a couple months to get the mobility back. It all depends on how severe the damage...don't wait too long is my best advice. Good luck

Stratus 3 won’t show traffic on both ForeFlight and Garmin pilot

My thoughts exactly ! So..let your safety pilot use the setting to view traffic while you practice the approach...then set it to show on your ipad when you are done.
