Discovered we have 20/80 compression on one cylinder of my Titan x-340 in the lancair. It's blowing past the rings. Cylinder was overhauled just 2 years and about 250 hours ago. I need to remove it and likely send it back to Gibson's. Would like to know tips, tricks, tools needed, gotchas...

High oil temperature and oil leak I am dealing with now. Did a compression check and one cylinder was 20/80 with blow by past rings.

I would look for another antenna, install it and go test it in the air, but I'm experimental. On certified, sadly, I believe an a&p return to service sign off is required.

Concur, this suggests antenna or coax issue. Of the two I would bet antenna. Can you swap out antennas as a test?

Is it poor receive and transmit or just receive? I've had transmit range worse than receive with a failing coax. SWR was quite high with transmissions. Do you receive better with squelch open? Have you checked your squelch in the setup menu? Press and hold enter when powering up the 5xx...

Have done so multiple times. Vomiting not uncommon. Clawing a concern also. I would recommend a carrier.

The fingertip clip box shaped ones work for a spot check but would be awkward for continuous use. For occasional use in an aircraft to check once at altitude, any should meet your needs. If your intended usage is continuous, I would look for one of the ring or wrist versions.
