Sound advice! :) Looks like the last one on BAT with similar mileage bid to just under $40k without the aftermarket stuff I've got. If I can get near $43k for it, I'd be happy. I know I'll kick myself in 5-10 years when the cars are selling for six figures.

I've used Sheppard Air for PPL, instrument and am now working on commercial. Simple, guaranteed to get you through the written. Their products are all about rote memorization so you will need to supplement it if you actually want to learn and apply the material.

I'm planning on CFI after commercial, and thought a degree in aviation would be helpful moving forward. I'd like to purse a professional flying career over the next few years as I'll be 50 in 6 years. Time to do something different. :)

I've considered ERAU for their online aeronautics degree, but I'm looking for alternatives, as well. I've already got my private, instrument rating, high performance and complex endorsements and I'm about two months or so from my commercial check ride. Any opinions on online alternatives?

I would at least argue that in the event of a GPS failure, DME would allow you to fly a LOC approach (provided you still have a nav/com wired to a CDI). The class D that I fly out of has a LOC that will get you down to 360'. Not a bad option really.
