    N Number Change Question

For anyone who has recently done this... My aircraft is being painted and a new N Number is being placed on the plane. I have a question concerning the final step (on the FAA site): "Within ten days after the new number is placed on the aircraft, the owner must present the duplicate AC Form...

Would you give up ILS for LPV approaches?

I wonder if that includes the cost of satellite maintenance, Air Force staff required to monitor the system, and other required GPS costs. I think you'd have to for an apples to apples.

Flew a C177R Cardinal Yesterday for the First Time

I owned a 177B for ten years and have owned a 177RG for the last six months. Loved the B and only had a problem with forward CG when I took my 320 pound friend for a ride. And then, I'd make sure I didn't have more than 30 gallons in the tanks and then it was within the envelope. Changing to...

Fuel Stick - Usable vs Total

If I ever get to the point where usable vs. total matters, I seriously screwed up.

    Keep DME and second NAV/COM?

I don't know much about IFR flying and will begin training after the aircraft is finished its upgrade. So I'm building it the way I think it might be most useful. The avionics will be as such: Stack PSA 450b Audio Panel IFD540 NAV/COM/GPS GNC255A or SL30 or Matrix1 NAV/COM (all w/GS) KN64 DME...

    Help Identifying a Part

Recognize this part? Top of knob says "Open" in the center, and Futurecraft, El Monte, CA along the outer edge. Bottom stub has a "Flow" directional arrow. Inlet has Futurecraft and 30295-2 and S/N 331 printed on it. Outlet has AF01(601)-48728 and 4820-885-4667 and U.S. printed on it.

    On board wheel chocks

That's the biggest problem with these. The other problem is that they may not fit under spats, if you have them on your plane.

Garmin just dropped a bomb on the avionics market...

Microsoft is still here because they don't require you to buy a Microsoft Printer, or Microsoft Mouse, or Microsoft Disk Drive. Their competitors did and are long dead. As far as avionics, I disagree that it makes it easier on the company. It is probably more difficult/expensive to force...

Garmin just dropped a bomb on the avionics market...

Walled Garden. If Garmin makes Pilot the only app compatible with their ADS-B IN unit, I won't buy either, and if they insist that the G3X will only talk to Garmin navigators, I'll shop elsewhere. I am disappointed that more of us aren't pushing back on the closed system concept that more and...

    New Garmin Avionics 3/25/19

If Dynon ever gets some additional planes on their Skyview AML, it'll be hard to justify going with Garmin - the Dynon features are at least as good for a third the price, and anyone can install the Dynon equipment (with IA supervision). But you are right - I think it's a bad day for Aspen.

    Hello Everyone! - Introducing Myself

First, welcome to POA, and congratulations on your new business. I wish you much success. I bought a bunch of stuff six months ago for my new to me Cessna 177RG and most of it didn't fit well, or failed to meet my expectations. There is a limited amount of stuff available for the Cardinal...
