    Decaf coffee [NA]

This is what I do after my first full power cup in the morning. I do a 2/3 decaf, 1/3 caf cup around lunchtime, to drink throughout the afternoon. If I'm out of the house and have to stop at some convenience store that doesn't have decaf, I will make a full power cup and regret it later when I...

    The upside down thread

Same car or different car? Cuz I done it a few times in the same car. Not inverted, inverted, not inverted, inverted, not inverted, inverted. It finally stuck that last time.

How do you determine market value for a FSBO without signing up with a realtor

In my experience, they do. Unless it is wildly unrealistic, you will get an appraisal for the amount you requested, and especially if the appraiser knows the agreed upon offer between buyer and seller in that type of transaction.

Hey old people, tell us what you can't do!

I can't slalom ski anymore. Or, I can't get up on one ski anymore, I should say. I can drop one and still give it hell. But wakeboarding is easier on the body. This was behind a new Malibu, I had to tell them to tone the wake down. It was so much bigger than the last boat I wakeboarded behind...

Hey young people, tell us what you can do!

I did the land surveying for a guy that bought five or so houses for pennies, they were to be demolished for a new interstate bypass. He bought the closest lots he could and moved all the houses to them. Most of them were moved less than a mile. We talked numbers and, if his numbers were...

Hey young people, tell us what you can do!

Yes. Our property taxes on the house are under $500 for the year. Like I said, we bought an inexpensive home, in an inexpensive area. County taxes only, no city or town property taxes. If we were in the nearby town limits, it would double the rate on everything... home, cars, dogs, etc... That's...

Hey young people, tell us what you can do!

This really should be a number more buyers look to when shopping, get it as low as possible. Our's when we bought, was 1.4. Now, our mortgage is a little over 7% of our take home income every month. It's even less than rent at the low income apartments in the all the nearest towns. Our number...

Hey young people, tell us what you can do!

To be fair, some dictionaries now include the definition of literally that means figuratively. It got so bad we just accepted it, so it wouldn't be bad anymore.

See?!? Sounds so much better than "Literally yeah".

Hey young people, tell us what you can do!

Most use it incorrectly, too. It has become a word used to emphasize a point, not fitting the original definition and intent of the word. Personally, I mostly like to use cuss words to do my emphasizing!

Seaplane collides with small boat in Vancouver

Best job on the planet. I miss delivering sailboats. I hope to get back into it when my kid is grown.

Seaplane collides with small boat in Vancouver

There are 3 designated seaplane ops areas on our lake. I don't think they even show up on most marine navigation software or some paper charts, but I have seen them on some charts. I bet most boaters don't even know about the designation, or how to transit through them. The red ovals with the...

    What about Autism?

My nine year old is considered moderate to severe on the spectrum. Huge speech delay and struggles socially. He may never fly for a living, but I have no doubt he could make a good sport pilot later in life, after he gets past his communication barriers. He already does well on MS simulator...

    The world will end shortly…

So, if that's the kind of truck math we're doing nowadays, I guess that technically makes the ol' k2500 a 9.5' bed. If I got one those extender thingies.

    The world will end shortly…

I have a 1988 Chevy k2500 that I will keep until I die because it has a true long bed. It's not a daily driver, just drive it a few times a month, when I need to do long bed things.

Well, I was talking about the great loop. Not many sailing opportunities while on it. It's mostly narrow, navigable channels, canals and rivers. You have to lower your mast prior to a bridge in Chicago that is 19ish feet high. Most people carry it on deck all the way down the Mississippi...

Yep, it'll be Yuge. Yuge, I tell ya! Even in a small sailboat, that can get 6-7 mpg, that's nearly 1000 gallons in fuel. On more inefficient boats, it can be your largest expense. Takes deep pockets to do the loop fast.
