YouTuber Dan Gryder Ordered to Pay Defendant $1-Million+

Can you imagine a dedicated YouTube channel to weekly car accidents or accidental child deaths like drowning?

Talk me out of the Ford Panther platform (NA, obviously)

Did that have an open differential or some breed of limited slip? I would think limited slip would be worse than the open diff + traction control. All good points and was a concern of mine as well. My winter experience has been positive, all I have ever driven here is front wheel drive sedans...

engine without logs still a viable core?

Total time on an engine is really only attached to the data tag. You can put together a brand new crankcase, new crankshaft, new camshaft kit and the old data tag, does the total time really mean anything on these little engines? Which parts are life limited by hours or calendar per a regulatory...

Navion Panel Upgrade (make some recommendations)

We don't have XM in either airplane or any portable XM service, so I don't have any advice there. We just have full ADS-B in & out via GTX345 in one airplane and GDL88 in the other. To me the traffic works better with the GTX than the GDL. I also feel like the GTX 345 does a better job getting...

I would love a Towncar Ultimate L 2005 to 2007 or so. The base model Town Car has ~4" longer wheelbase than the Grand Marquis and the Town Car L versions are 9" longer than my Grand Marquis, all that length is for back seat legroom.

Talk me out of the Ford Panther platform (NA, obviously)

One thing that really surprises me about the panthers I have. All the big ground terminals (ring terminals with multiple ground wires on them) are bolted right over a painted surface. I'm surprised there aren't more electrical problems than there are showing up on forums. I took all them apart...

Talk me out of the Ford Panther platform (NA, obviously)

Transmissions are decent but have their own problems. The rubber seals bonded to the pistons, accumulators, and servos get really hard & brittle and eventually start leaking. Its pretty common to lose overdrive as the servo piston leaks and the band gets burnt up. A few hard parts are weak but...

They are great cars for the right people. They aren't flashy, not really fast, not loud, spongy suspension and weak gas milage. My Dad & Mom have always bought brand new cars and his kids got hand-me-downs or used. I asked my dad to go look at the 2004 when I was shopping, and his response was...

Talk me out of the Ford Panther platform (NA, obviously)

I've got two Grand Marquis The first one I bought on Feb 2021, was a 2004 a bit overpriced at $2500 112K miles with a cracked windshield and needing all new tires. This car recently got a new windshield wiper motor as well. I put all new brakes on it too. Its my daily driver and almost all city...

That is unusable with the front seats slid aft.

Navion Panel Upgrade (make some recommendations)

I'd ditch the GDL88 idea and GTX33ES and get a new GTX345, and forget the FS210 and just get one FS510 We have two airplanes, one with GTX 345 and the other has a GTX 327 & GDL 88. Both airplanes have this equipment wired to 650Xi, the GDL 88 is a lot of screwing around wiring and installing a...

    Oil burn...What are your numbers?

Lotta variables but this old Lycoming O320 can do about 5-10 hrs per quart. If I'm doing lotta touch & goes it seems to burn more than If I'm just cruising on a cross country. This engine is old and three of 4 cylinders the lower plugs are usually pretty oily when pulling them for cleaning...

    Uneven wear on tires

I can see flipping them on the wheels every 3 years or so. The prices of all these things are so out of sight that trading some man hours to save some $ seems like a must.

    Verify, always.

I've been looking at tamper seals to put over the retaining screw holes just for that reason. I think in reality half the stuff in the panel would be inop because so much of the newer avionics depends on proper programing to talk to each other.

    Verify, always.

I get it, there are owners out there that get $25K of avionics installed and they don't even read the logbook entry. Then go nuts at the next prebuy because they can't locate said logbook entry.

    Verify, always.

Resolved, and there is an email trail that I can add to the box if I ever sell it to third party explaining why the box serial number doesn't match the unit.

    Hanging an Engine...Alone?!

Hanging a constant speed prop by yourself sucks, without a sling and a hoist.

    Too hot to fly Legally?

If the limitations section doesn't prohibit operations above a certain temperature then your CFI is full of ****. There can be temperature limits for reasons other than performance, like the resin strength they made the composite wings out of.
