Deferring Marriage and a Family to fly professionally

Sounding programmed by a bitter spouse (mom). Men can't win. Its either "you don't make enough $" or "you are not home enough" either way it is ALWAYS their fault. These women are always miserable. Then they can program the kids to be miserable too, cause misery loves company.

RPM/Performance decrease after cylinder replacement & carburetor rebuild

I just finished a field overhaul for myself, using brand new cylinder kits, brand new camshaft and new tappets kit, 5 of the existing pushrods were too short when I checked dry tappet clearance.

Champion T-Handle Spark Plug Lead Wrench $$$

Time to start a homemade wrench challenge thread here. Honestly, a set of crows feet and one extension with a small piece of pipe welded to it for the T handle would work.

Champion T-Handle Spark Plug Lead Wrench $$$

I would buy a cheaper welder and make one before buying that $300 wrench. Sure its not as fast but the reward will be way more.

    The death of an insitution

Its a complicated phenomena IMHO. How many of the boys are in divorced or single-parent households where the woman has custody? The traveling sports aspect has already been mentioned. Lacking motivation to be outdoors seems like another one. I don't like that mens/boys support groups are...

    Looking for o-ring part number

I've got a P5000 Saf-Air valve on my Lycoming, their website even has a table of the standard o-ring part numbers that fit each valve. https://www.saf-air.com/products/o-rings.html

    Transporting an o-300 FWF

I think I'd drain the oil, and place it on a tire upside down. I don't think the oil sump/pan is all that sturdy and might get damaged otherwise.

One of the cheapest and easiest to replace part broke part on my plane that absolutely grounded me.

A lot of those bolts capture the nose wheel fairing and can't be tightened much without crushing the fiberglass/plastic.

Dual G5's vs Aspen Evolution E5 vs Dual GI 275

And what are your autopilot desires or existing? That seems to be a big chunk missing from the picture. If you want a GFC500 the aspen is out IMHO.

Deferring Marriage and a Family to fly professionally

A marriage is only a success when? 10 years? Children grow up and get married? Or one spouse has died? My grandparents (Dad's side) have been married some 70 years, they pulled it off, both are dead now. No remarriage when one was widowed. She lasted about 5 years after he died. Grandparents on...

Deferring Marriage and a Family to fly professionally

I certainly agree with you. The problem is that too many people don't get it, or weren't ready for it, talked themselves into it etc, and it just makes a huge mess that is difficult to recover from. COVID ruined a lot couples emotionally and financially. Stack a divorce on that, maybe a bitter...

Deferring Marriage and a Family to fly professionally

Absolute truth. There is no denying it. I've seen it at least a dozen times for couples I thought were solid and kind of rooted for them. I'm 40 now, and I am a lot more aware of my influence on couples than back when I was 20. I've had older woman literally discussing divorce plans with me...

Deferring Marriage and a Family to fly professionally

Fact is that 50% or more of the people on this planet aren't marriage material. A large pile of married people are miserable and may appear successful but have yet to eject. Can't go wrong investing in yourself. People change. Conditions change. A wife's friends and family change and can poison...
