    DOGE and the FAA

Simple, it either you who pays for it or somebody else covers your costs ( or is forced to do so ) - there are no other alternatives but frankly this has nothing to do with the value of things … a plane is worth only as much as somebody is willing to pay for it and if I am unwilling to sell it...

    DOGE and the FAA

I think what they are trying to solve is the ever growing per capita spending on the federal level. Unless this growth is somehow arrested, at some point we will, as Thatcher used to put , “run out of other people’s money” …

    DOGE and the FAA

By definition , if a company sells for X then it is not undervalued but it is worth exactly X- at least at the moment. There is no intrinsic value to any goods or services , they are always only worth as much as somebody is willing to pay for it.

    DOGE and the FAA

One solutions is to simply maintain some kind of credit system where entities that return money back , get credited with that amount and then that “virtual” credit is used to prioritize any future requests for additional funds .

    DOGE and the FAA

When your engine goes out and you need to put it down, knowing how to manage your glide and land it at the slowest possible speed without a stall is the main benefit of being proficient at a slow flight.

    DOGE and the FAA

It is .. a few journalists suspended for short time and then reinstated with apologies is not the same as hard ban on everyone who dares to express whatever is currently passing as so called misinformation. X is currently the only large social platform that actually resembles the concept of the...

    DOGE and the FAA

First of all X has not moved to right or to left, it is still a public platform - it is just that no longer “moderates” ( or censors ) posts unless these happen to break the law. As far as the FAA … I am sure there is a lot of waste and inefficiencies there - in any institution where it takes an...

    DOGE and the FAA

It is not really about fact checking…. more like , for a joke to be truly funny it has to be somewhat based in reality , thats what makes it funny in the first place.

    DOGE and the FAA

Thats pretty much what they said ..starting with DOD and few other agencies ( not including FAA )

Even that joke is historically inaccurate as vast majority of slaves were sold to European traders by other black Africans.

    DOGE and the FAA

Let him rip … the more the better, he has many decades of ever accumulating rules and regulations to go thru. https://cei.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Figure-11.png In the end , I doubt it will happen - the bureaucracy always wins in the end - but I wish him well.

    DOGE and the FAA

Oh yes, brilliant government employees with their well known work ethic and staggering efficiency save the day from evil private profiteers ….hehehehe

Because you need competition for markets to do their magic.

    And so it goes..

Doing right things ( eating right, taking care of yourself etc ) is never a wasted effort but unfortunately ,what happens with our hearts is mostly determined by our genes anyway and everything else is just relatively minor postponing/accelerating type of behavior.

    And so it goes..

So what is the minimum required treadmill time after reaching age adjusted heart rate … 9 or 12 minutes ?

Elon does not read this forum, apparently

AI will solve that problem ( efficiency on the battle field and in a few decades human soldiers will be mostly obsolete ) - where it probably wont help is in the supply/purchase chain - bureaucrats and people benefitting from their bureaucratic inertia will make sure that whatever AI they use...

Elon does not read this forum, apparently

Unions exist to protect people with relatively easily replaceable skills by organizing them into large groups that, unlike individuals, are not so easily replaceable ( as long as said groups act in unison ) - it is a form of institutional blackmail ( actually a labor equivalent of business...

Elon does not read this forum, apparently

I did not but my son is a captain in USMC so I hear plenty enough to form an opinion - nobody questions people courage under fire but the bureaucracy behind it is just as bad ( and often worse in terms of how much waste they can get away with ) as any other government agency.

    Considering a RV-6A But.......

It is indeed aviation 101 , I am well aware of that , but we like to build generous margins of safety in everything we manufacture and nose wheels should be no exception - we all have slightly off days and I prefer planes that let me have an occasional day like that without having to shell out...
