    NA Where's my coolant going?

Yep. Easy, quick free check. Pull the oil dipstick AND oil filler port cap after a heat-soaking drive. If the oil in either place looks like a chocolate milkshake, head gasket is blown.

For Flight School Graduates - Survey Opportunity

Generally, surveys are not well-received here. Motives are always under suspicion as General Aviation is under continual attack from many fronts. We do have a few ATP pilots here, but the vast majority of our participants are GA pilots. You will do better posting your request to an actual ATP...

FAA approves new Las Vegas area airport (with Spaceport?)

If this potential airport is built, and depending on where in the dry lake it is built, it won't likely mess up low-level ops out of Jean, but might affect high-altitude glider ops. I expect the runway(s) would be roughly N-S oriented which puts arrival and departure smack-dab over Jean.

Why Alkaline Batteries are not in my flight bag

I am not sure there are any small batteries NOT manufactured in China. They have us by the balls. How many military sighting systems use such batteries? Imagine if the CCP decided to stop exporting batteries.

    Supreme Court: Chevron Deference

The SCOTUS decision limited an agency/administration from overstepping its bounds as set by congress and the constitution. I do not believe the SCOTUS decision banned observers on boats or docks. The decision was about whether the fishermen would have to pay $700/day to cover the cost of the...

Are there hills in Rhode Island? That sign may be the best anti-theft device available. I drive a stick. When I roll up to a light and others are coming behind me, I'll let up on the brake and roll back a foot. That usually gets the message across.

    Supreme Court: Chevron Deference

And the Feds have not given up any now. The executive branch and its minions routinely ignore court rulings. We still have years of litigation ahead on the Chevron issue--but it's a start on limiting the power of the executive branch back to constitutional levels.
