My local approach control is MCAS Cherry Point, they’ve always been very good, very accommodating. likewise the controllers at Seymour Johnson AFB nearby. I think you’re comment wrt marine/military controllers is in error and/or out of date.

Make sure you buy her the super premium plus plan from AAA. It has come in handy with our daughter. It’s not perfect but it’s somebody to call. It works even if she is in somebody else’s car when it breaks down.
