Do you need permission to sue the government? No, but you must comply with the provisions of the Federal Tort Claims Act. In 1946, Congress passed the Federal Tort Claims Act which allows plaintiffs injured by the negligent acts of federal employees to file claims against the United States for...

Possibly reported for VFR on Top

I received several of these reports over the years. Sorta hard to adjudicate from within the windowless room, so basically it's just a "roger." I'm wondering why the controller vectored the IFR, unless they were in Class B. Perhaps the IFR aircraft requested it.

Person jumps from aircraft landing at RDU

    Mitigating disruption to a rally/demonstration

Many people need to learn the art of persuasion. Changing people's opinion is something that requires a little more than a bullhorn or a tube of superglue.

I bought an airplane. It was a lifelong dream. 6 months later, I'm out. (Reddit post)

Looks like there's one in Jonesboro, Lawrenceville, and Atlanta. https://airframe-powerplant.com/airframe-powerplant-schools-georgia.htm

..I had a gear up landing - and my first declaration

While not exhaustive, substantial damage (the threshold for declaring an event an accident) generally occurs with damage to the structure. Rip the nose gear off: minor damage. Rip the nose gear off and deform the firewall: substantial damage. We had a B727 lose an entire engine while in cruise...

Did you have your breath alcohol level measured by an intoxilyzer or a portable (field) breath tester?

    Late Wednesday Funnies…

Easy peasy. We drank out of used chemical beakers that we dug up at the heavy-metal toxic waste dump.

    another complicated case

Why would you need a blood test if you had already blown a .088 on the Intoxilyzer? I'm not familiar with many state's laws, but normally it's one or the other.
