WTF California? They want to tax my aircraft when it hasn’t even been there?

It's not really a word at all, so don't commit that to memory. I think he was going for "agita."

    Airbus A350F

I’ve heard it’s really difficult/expensive to cut holes in composite material for doors, etc. Same reason you probably won’t see a 787 P2F.

    Explain plane spotting to me

The spotting culture fascinates me. This guy is a pretty popular train spotter on social media. His enthusiasm for trains is unbound. I wish I had something in my life that made me this giddy. This guy always makes me smile...

AT- 3R100 goes from usable to unusable in a second Cockpit video

    Where’s the first cockpit video?

    Cylinder leaning itself while climbing?

Not being snarky, trying to learn. Wouldn’t a diaphragm be considered a moving part?

    Turbulence results in Pax death

I bet if they had ran the right checklist this wouldn’t have happened. I can’t speak for that airplane, but for the stuff I’ve flown with an EICAS, the checklist title is verbatim what is written up on the screen. You have to make sure the checklist you’re using is the right one by cross...

Power configuration settings in the pattern

I think he means 300' AGL and 1 mile from the runway.

First Time Flying to Key West

    I agree.

First Time Flying to Key West

Which CFR says that? If you’re using 91.205, that’s only for aircraft for hire. Since I don’t think many of us are operating for hire to KEYW, I think 91.509 applies, and I don’t see where a normal route to KEYW is more than 50 nautical miles from shore.

First Time Flying to Key West

I’m sure it’s smart to do so, but why is it required?

    Light chop all altitudes

Might want to review AIM 7-1-21

    Light chop all altitudes

I don’t even carry passengers and I’m all for finding a smooth altitude. Flying in constant chop is fatiguing. Plus it makes drinking coffee and doing my crossword harder.

Do they put freight on RJs?

For me it definitely is. I tend to buy my business tickets last minute (some times day of) just due to schedule changes. And I’m not talking about RJ flights. I’m talking like I want to go from Narita (Tokyo) to Phoenix tomorrow. In Business Class.

    London/Paris Vacation, must see places?(NA)

I used to think the same way as you, but I softened a little after seeing this: https://news.artnet.com/art-world/isis-cultural-heritage-sites-destroyed-950060 https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/150901-isis-destruction-looting-ancient-sites-iraq-syria-archaeology Not that...

Meaning of "Directed Routing" Under FAR 61.65

I think it’s a catch-all to prevent penantry. Like you plan your cross-country on airways, then ATC sends you direct from one NAVAID to another. This way some sea lawyer doesn’t come along and say “your cross-country doesn’t count because you weren’t on an airway for the ATC directed part.

"Fly Runway Heading"... with a Garmin G3X Touch

If tower tells you to “fly runway heading,” you do just that. Do not adjust for wind. Just fly the runway heading.

What MDS? We used the same rules as AD AF. Maybe it was a 11-2-KC-135 thing, but it was definitely a thing.

PC 12 down in Nevada - 5 Fatalities

Yeah, but Occam also has a funny way of disappearing for a lot of these. Ol' Mr. Occam was jumping up and down screaming "fuel contamination" in this one: https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/v-twin-down-janesville.130835/page-3#post-3373510 Occam would have never said "broken...

Where does it say in 61.57(b) that there is any restriction on what type of crewmember or mention crewmember at all? All is says is that you can't carry passengers.
