The way I understand it is if you get an experimental certificate (e.g. experimental exhibition) for a previously standard category aircraft to do modifications, the standard requirements for certified aircraft still apply to all parts of the plane that aren't modifixed.

I find the 8" tablets to be the sweet spot between big enough and too big, just the right size for a kneeboard. Currently I'm using a Lenovo TB-8705F, using Avare. If I'm just flying local I use my phone if I use anything at all but take the tablet for longer trips.

I tried DaVinci when the free version of Videopad went away but it was too hard to find the functions I was using in Videopad and knew had to be there. More recently I've been using the free version of Hitfilm.
