    Kennedy tool boxes

I do have a JH Williams (Snap-On's industrial brand) ratcheting screw driver, which I love. The JH Williams version is identical to the Snap-On version my friend had, but half the price (still expensive, though)...

    Kennedy tool boxes

I have a large rolling one in my garage with another chest on top (it keeps my tools organized and in one place). I have a canvas tool bag that I throw what I need in, when I am mobile. When I get back to the garage, I put my tools back in the toolbox. So far, this has worked out great, because...

    Kennedy tool boxes

I got Craftsman on sale. Sears has an outlet store nearby me. Who knows what is happening to them, now, though. Didn’t they sell off the Craftsman brand? It seems to work well and the drawers slide nice.

What to do; upgrade the plane or the avionics

Depending on the year of the Cherokee, it probably has a "shotgun" panel. You get used to it, but my instructor didn't want to give instrument lessons with it. The panel is not cheap to convert to a "six pack" as you need to have a new panel cut and the panel is considered structural (need a...

Brokers...why are most of them so ignorant!

I will point out, that I have not asked for a test flight until I was pretty sure I was very interested in the plane. That includes a full log book review. I wouldn't agree to go under contract, though, before a test flight. I guess you could write the contract with some outs, depending on what...

Brokers...why are most of them so ignorant!

I wouldn't buy a plane without a flight, either. It is common to offer to pay for some gas, though (not free).

Buying a Plane -- Engine vs Avionics vs Price

See if they will scan the logs for you. At least the last few years. How much time since the reman (not hours but chronological time)? How many hours flown between annuals? Does it look like work is being done year to year or are they just getting the annual signed off (obscure logs are a red...

Buying a Plane -- Engine vs Avionics vs Price

I would go opposite. Buy a mechanically sound plane and budget for avionics (you are never going to fine what you want already installed). If you want an autopilot, you will want that already in the plane, though. A poorly maintained plane will nickel and dime you to death getting it caught up...

iPad Mini death watch, 9/12/2018 edition

My repair is done. I bit the bullet. Mine is a 4G version, though.

    $1 Billion Lotto Drawing

Why stop there? SpaceX will take you Mars. BTW, I already bought the winning ticket. Hope I don’t have to split it, because I really need a billion dollars. Future ex wives are expensive ;) that, and supporting my extended family’s bad habits. Come to think of it, winning will probably be more...

Is my AME making a mistake???

Ok, slight thread drift. I am not military. I have gerd (diagnosed a very long time ago). I was prescribed Pepcid, daily and it worked (I felt a lump in my throat). I also have persistent “allergies” year round. I have tried to reduce, eliminate the Pepcid over the years. I can reduce it, but...

Just finish assembling the stratux kit! :-)

I thought it would be a fun project, and it was. If that isn’t your thing, then just buy one. There isn’t much money to be saved.

    NA IBM Tokenized Basic? NA

This was actually PC based (state of the art IBM Turbo XT at the time with a 5 MB interchangeable hard drive). I was working for Interstate Voice Products. I have done work for HP in Roseville's test division and got to experience the 10 meter chamber. That was trippy. The world went silent.

    NA IBM Tokenized Basic? NA

Back in the early 80's, I used to code in Better Basic, which had an interpreter, but also a compiler (best of both worlds). It even let you call sub-routines by name, instead of line number (as Basic did back then).

    Garage remote

Someone should invent one that is disguised as something discrete, such as an air freshener or something.

    "Pantsdrunk": Straight Outta Helsinki

Apparently “pants” doesn’t mean what I thought it did. It reminds me of a George Thorogood song.

Stratus Horizon Pro app won’t open

ForeFlight is reporting app crashes on IOS 12 for “older” devices, in clouding the 6. They said they are working with Apple to find a solution.
