Pilots of America, I am new here and am able to help answer questions about FAA medical certification. I'm a military pilot and ATP/CFII that is also a board certified Aerospace Medicine physician and HIMS qualified senior AME.

The FAA is slowly updating their systems to digital communication, but right now they only communicate with outside entities via mail and fax. Those physicians and psychologist qualified at the HIMS level do have a digital document interface, but everyone else is still stuck with mail and fax.
