    nervous

Keep flying... I was nervous, very nervous when I was learning to fly. I was sweating bullets for months during the hot summers. It took me 16 months and 2 hot summers to get my PPL nervous the whole time. When I got my own plane I was nervous, I flew mostly by myself cause I was nervous. Now 9...

    UPS rant

I removed a RV from in back of the house in the driveway a few months ago. Now all the delivery guys pull into our extra wide drive and turn around behind our home which means all of our packages get put on the back porch under a awning. Love that. None of them are perfect. I ordered a small...

Buying my first airplane and have couple of concerns

I got a new hobbs meter when I had a new panel put in. I use it to log my flying and know how many hours I have on my panel. It has nothing to do with the engine. I use tach time to track my engine maintenance.

    Longest Streak

I did both tonight, flew for a little while and then parked by the FBO because that is where the hose is. Walked to the hangar and put the dog on the leash and grabbed my bucket pre soaped and small step ladder. Gave it a good soaking with car wash soap. Hand washed the whole thing except for the...

    Longest Streak

I read that story somewhere also. Probably why I started? I got a bit ridiculous during my "streak", flying early in the morning before sunrise to beat the incoming rain or shoot out to the airport at lunch time because there was a break in the weather or schedule. I dont recommend it. I wont...

    Longest Streak

There was a few days I only flew the pattern but I flew that day. You get tired after that many days and you become a safety hazard.

    Longest Streak

A few years ago I flew 23 days in a row. August and September 2023 I flew 58 days in row as we had beautiful weather most all those days. We had our RV camping at 64I and I flew back and forth for work while my wife and dog stayed there for 3 weeks. So that got me started on that streak.

when you don't have your maint. logs with you?

Exactly, some people's hand writing is terrilbe like mine. There are entry's in my logs that I can't read from years prior. And they are very vague. Does anyone keep all of their receipts for parts and service with the logs?

Aircraft owners thoughts on IA requirement for annual inspection

Probably more than 3K a year in taxes and they wasted our tax dollars. At least there is a choice in aviation, get a experimental aircraft.

Aircraft owners thoughts on IA requirement for annual inspection

We had emissions testing here for a short time. They built these large 4-5 bay brick buildings all round town for testing. It was only a year or 2 and they stopped testing and then those tax payer buildings sat vacant for years. I had to take my hot rod car over there with a huge overlapping...

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

Last year come evening there was young boy flying around on a noisy mini bike in our area. 2 of our neighbors confronted the boy and asked him to slow down. He did as I saw him several times more during the week and he was riding responsibly. Love it when it works that way.

    Oshkosh 2024 - Who's going?

The first 2 visits we brought just bikes because we read the rules for the campground, or least I did. Each year my wife said your a dummy for not bringing something motorized to get us around. This year we brought that ATV and it made it much nicer. I saw many many one wheels, everywhere...lol

Aircraft owners thoughts on IA requirement for annual inspection

I just finished an annual on very simple 172 following the Cessna SM checklist. If you fly a lot than there is plenty to keep up with. I think $2500-3000 is very fair in today's world if they really follow the checklist and don't cut corners. That number should not include oil and filters etc...
