I’m sorry to hear that. I’m thankful to have been raised by 2 parents and that they are still here, when I think about other friends and family who did not/do not. But it’s tough watching them age. I hope you continue to enjoy your flights and find the best plane for the mission.

Are some/all 210s one door on the passenger side? If so, your dad may need to sit pilot side if you have to help him in, then you get in and fly right seat. In my 182, even though my folks are still mobile, I do help them in to make sure no ankles or shins get skinned, heads get bonked...

My only aviation advice is to work your butt off and get the highest paying job in the shortest amount of time that you can.

If I were a Piper owner, I would at least send a comment about my local/regional shop rate. 10 minutes of your time divided by the potential market value savings is a LOT of dollars per hour :)

Interesting insurance comparison. I was helping my parents with renewing auto insurance quotes. 2015 and 2011 Lexus RX350s. The older car is in Florida, newer in Indiana. Florida quote was 4x, same broker and insurance company.

Make sure of legalities to possess and transport in States that you intend on flying over, not just to. An emergency or precautionary landing in a non-compliant state is going to get additionally complicated when/if law-enforcement shows up. Maybe even worse, your in-flight decision making...

Obviously if you buy tinted windows, you’ve got it for a long time and can’t easily change back. If you go clear, you may be able to add various types of automotive film and remove it if/when you like.
