To your point about high tech, the old dinosaur mill can be managed with electronic process controls and button-pushing systems management by the pilot.
Startup and run-up: system self checks. Taxi leaning. Take off. Climb cruise. Cruise. Descent. Maybe even landing or go-around. Manage...
The FSDO is already paid for. The lawyer might add wallet-insult to wallet-injury.
Plus, if I get a lawyer, I’m the director. If I use the FSDO, I just hit the launch button and the missle does its thang.
If you were going to have the pre buy done by the same guy and it was done 2 years ago, assuming you could get the “report”, I’d just send it. Buy without a pre-buy. Or anyone could do the pre-buy.
Damage and ground running or sitting corrosion are the main factors that could have occurred...
35 kt direct tailwind
4:00 flight
Cruised between 150-160 kts
Cracked 200 mph :)

Cheaper than typical due to speed
Maybe the thrill will wear off and I’ll keep my trusty 182…instead of thinking Mooney, RV, or Bo…I...
Where is a good resource someone can recommend to learn about SVFR? Yeah, regs are the final authority, I’m thinking a web link or instructional video. (If I learned it before I’ve since forgotten; I was a black & white go/no go VFR pilot until I got my IR, so never considered it as a tool in...
My use of pulse ox is just to get an idea of regulator flow rate after I’ve checked to see if I need O2. I generally know when I need it based on my own experiences and gotten a feel for what setting I’ll need at what altitude. It’s more of a check/confirmation now.
Find a few mechanics and CFIs. Fly with the CFIs, work with the mechanics and learn your way around the plane.
As you fly more and more, don’t question “did I hear that” or “did that change”? Yes you did and yes it did. No one will know her better than you.
Figure out your “kit”. All the...
I spent a total of 8 hours on calls, a visit to Verizon, and 3 visits to AT&T store before I was able to transfer my number. In this day and age, not sure why that’s so hard. Maybe security reasons, I dunno.
I remember some people who looked like they were of Asian descent wearing masks 10-15 years before COVID-19. I just see it as a conservatively protective informed behavior now, nothing more or less.
I did on a few of the commercial flights I took this year, but not all.
