Sigh...another nose gear bites the dust.

if you act like the yoke has a ratchet in it, you can pull it back but you can't push it back in. one of the tricks to prevent PIO.

i find it pretty ironic that I moved to Oklahoma city for ATC training and have yet to have a tornado touch down here, but back home (where it never happens) they had one!

    funny business names

My wife thought I stopped at an adult store on my way out to Oklahoma when she saw “kum-N-Go” on the bank statement. They probably shouldn’t have gotten so creative with the spelling....

Have you built any aviation related items?

I briefly considered making a few. The borrowed code I used says I can’t sell it. So I might ask a friend of mine to write a new program and give him a cut. I finished this one just before I left for OKC to train as a controller. So I have a bit on my plate right now

    Cherokee 6 Raffle coming.

Yeah, I’m sure with some good transition training, it would be fine. I only have 105 hours, but some of that was in a hawk XP so I have at least used a CS prop.

QT Halos. What am I doing wrong?

same here, which is unfortunate. the silicone plugs are about as easy as it gets. I usually have to breathe on my foam plugs when its really cold out to get them soft enough to insert.

    New pilot struggling

Ill chime in here with my experience. I specifically remember at hour #4 coming home and whining to my wife about how Im just not getting it, I thought it would come to me by now, Im over/under controlling, etc. I ended up going for my check ride at 50 hours. for me, I suddenly hit a point...

They let us land on a frozen lake

Alton Bay is hoping that after this weekend they will be able to open. they have enough ice now, but we had freezing rain and slush that coated the top, and snowmobilers ran up and down the runway just before it froze, creating big ruts and a rough surface. it should melt down a bit this...
