    Oshkosh - 2019

This has been our practice for decades. In fact, it's in our written employee interview notes: "What are you doing the last week of July?" If they answer anything, they don't get hired. :) This was Oshkosh #36 in a row. We are already planning for #37. OSH is not negotiable.

YouTube Oshkosh videos taken down of Sunday FISK jam

I'm glad someone else brought up the problem with allowing the mass arrivals in ahead of the hundreds of us holding. IMHO, that was a bad call, and possibly put many of us at risk. That said, I will reiterate: Everyone did a phenomenal job in the holds. Mostly amateur pilots, mostly...

    Oshkosh - 2018

2381 miles, and 20.4 hours (3.5 spent in the Green Lake hold at 90 knots) of flight time later, we are home. What a great adventure! We are counting the days till we can do it again for OSH '19. It was great seeing everyone again (and my apologies to the many we missed)! :) Sent from my...

Last Call -- Your Invitation to the 16th Annual HOPS Party

The whole set up is safely stored in the OSH trailer until OSH '19. One of us will have to remember the Adel clamps. lol Thanks again -- they were awesome! Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

    Oshkosh - 2018

I managed to perform one of my dumbest pilot tricks ever at OSH this year, thanks to ADS-B. My EFIS is set to emit a warning tone whenever there is another plane within 5 miles. This tone is loud, and there is no volume control. I forgot to disable it before entering the approach. :( For...

    Oshkosh - 2018

I flew in Monday morning around 11:30, after diverting to Wautoma on Sunday. FISK had the A-team working, and it was easy peasy, right up the tracks. "Welcome to Oshkosh." They were actually following the OSH NOTAM, and as usual it worked extremely well. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

Last Call -- Your Invitation to the 16th Annual HOPS Party

Awesome! We didn't get arrested! lol (FYI: Jim made blinky lights for our big Texas flagpole out of two Corona beer bottles and some VERY bright LEDs.) I posted a video of them in action on Facebook. They were so bright we had to turn them off during the night airshow. Sent from my SM-T713...

    Oshkosh - 2018

Well, there's no big rush to get out, thanks to the storms to our South, so we are enjoying our last morning in the chalet, sipping coffee and watching the Mustangs and Spitfire depart. Another great OSH. It was wonderful seeing everyone again! Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

That's Nick, our friend who stashes ALL that stuff (in our trailer) in one of the barns on his family's farm. Without him, we would be in a pup tent. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk

Your Invitation to the 16th Annual HOPS Party in the North 40

If you're in Oshkosh, tonight is the 16th Annual HOPS Party, right after the afternoon air show is over. We are in Row 509, right up at Rwy 27. Look for the white chalet and big Texas flag. "HOPS" stands for "Homebuilt", "Owning", "Piloting", and "Student" -- the original aviation newsgroups...
