In 32 years of flying airplanes with a CVR, it never crossed my mind that it was even installed with the exception of the preflight testing of it. 1 hour or 24 makes no difference to me.

My panel lights pulse with the strobe lights. My next troubleshooting exercise is to find the best quality panel bulbs available, whatever that is.

It’s a factory 165 Franklin. Dan’s answer was what I was looking for. The Franklin uses the conical rubbers and the manual has a good explanation of how to properly install and tighten the bolts. I am going to go with the manual.

The Stinson parts catalog specifies AN6-36 bolts and AN310-6 nuts plus cotter pins for the motor mount. What is currently installed is AN6-36A bolts and the all metal lock nuts that I can’t put a number to just yet. Is there a reason why someone would have used something other than the bolts...

So what style or brand would not interfere? What I have found with my LED panel lights is that they dim slightly with each flash of the strobes. FYI, my dimmer is designed specifically for LED bulbs.

Is the dimmer switch stock to the airplane or did you have to get one to work with the LEDs?

@bbchien JOOC, what is the criteria for certifying an airman with OSA? Events per hour and all. Is it the same across all classes?
