    Crowdstrike

Why does crowdstrike (and mcafee, and others) make products for apple and linux operating systems as well as windows? Some hypothesis include: - All the operating systems have security issues and microsoft is no longer unique in having security holes - These vendors are selling people products...

No. You made incorrect claims in your posts, and I provided information with citations showing the errors in your posts. If what I wrote is incorrect, just show where the citation is wrong.

Southwest flight 150agl 4 mile final into TPA

Should they be checking altitude periodically? What approach were they using? For example, if I read the chart (link below) properly, they should be no lower than 1600' crossing ZEXXY at 3.5 miles out. https://www.flightaware.com/resources/airport/TPA/IAP/RNAV+(GPS)+RWY+10/pdf What makes the...

    Crowdstrike

If you were a customer of one of the affected businesses, it would certainly impact you as many others have been impacted. SciRef (and many other programs) run only on windows. If SciRef crashed my computer, that is a problem caused by SciRef, not microsoft. I'm pretty sure people can...

No, it's not windows. My colleagues in China see no issues with their airlines and other businesses. Airlines seem to use Windows less than here, but windows is used there.

ForeFlight Now Requiring IOS 16 or Higher

For a VFR only pilot flying nothing more complex than a C-172, I don't recall recent updates that would apply to me. As long as I can get updated charts and databases, I should be fine.

And that's why I mentioned on-line reviews as a confirming dataset. People just don't read anymore.

Chinese passenger seat display showing knots and feet

My images suggest otherwise, at least for China. I doubt they changed the display for a single 外国人.

    Chinese Food

I'm allowed to drift the thread. Any of us are. And I find few Chinese (or otherwise) restaurants have bad sanitation or prep practices. Look up the inspection report for the restaurant. They are often posted in the window, or on the municipal web site. Walk away from those with a bad inspection...

Chinese passenger seat display showing knots and feet

I expected that there is a setting to change the units. But I didn't know places outside of the USA tend to also use knots and feet. Thanks for the information!

FTFY. I've seen good and bad in many eating establishments in this country no matter which ethnicity was running it.

Chinese passenger seat display showing knots and feet

I was on a flight from Shenzhen to Shanghai a couple of weeks ago on a Chinese airline. I had a choice of some movies that had some kung-fu fighting, or a display that showed me location, views out the window and a heads-up display. It took me a while to notice the HUD was displaying airspeed in...

Tips for flying through the Annular Eclipse

It won't last long. If the weather is clear, see it from the ground. Also, pin-hole camera type viewers are cheap, easily made, and their design means you don't look at the sun. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/learn/project/how-to-make-a-pinhole-camera/...

    [NA]Irritating Fee #903

Better food- breakfast= yes; dinner was generally no (Spain, UK, India, Singapore, China this year, IHG group). I could usually find a place for dinner with the same local cuisine but a bit better. Service seemed the same- I haven't had issues anywhere in the world (South San Francisco, San...

    [NA]Irritating Fee #903

Yes- amazing in many places in the world! I just got back from China and I was amazed at the simplicity of their hotel bills. Just the rate for each night- no taxes (probably buried in the rate), no resort fees, no registration fees, no internet fees, no cleaning or registration fees- just a...
