    Growler Down

I'd assume in a tactical jet like the F-18, plug in the burners and point it straight up until you find better weather. Low level tactical flying is inherently risky, it only takes one distraction, one hesitation, one little hiccup, and you meet the ground at high speed. Terrible tragedy.

Hey old people, tell us what you can't do!

I'm still trying to figure out if I'm young or old.

    iPad mini 7 announced

I've been dragging my feet on replacing my Mini 4. I only use it for foreflight and maybe isolated reading. I had been debating between a Mini 6 or a full size iPad, but knew a Mini 7 was in the works.

    Weekend Recap

I'll have to admit, I never thought of the PA-32 as a type that would have an owner group like that. Pretty cool.

"US President" goes bananas on Frontier flight

Mental illness seems to be running rampant these days. We have seen a lot more of it at my work in recent years.

WP 3D Orion how does it stay intact?

When I was in high school, we got to tour Keesler AFB where the Air Force's Hurricane Hunters are based. For those that don't know, the AF flies the C-130s, and NOAA flies the P-3 and other aircraft for weather reconnaissance. We asked the pilot giving the tours about the C-130, if it was...

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

Don't even need to start the engine, just tie a rope to the prop and fly it like a kite!

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

Interesting looking at the current radar, the mass of convection is on the north side, with a large surge of dry air on the south side.

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

TPA is reporting winds out of the NE, which would coincide with the center going to pass just south. Almost sucking the water out of Tampa Bay versus pushing it in. Might be the saving grace for much of Tampa. Going to be bad for Sarasota and others south.

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

This storm is likely going to be similar to Katrina. It reached Cat 5 over open water, but reduced to Cat 3 by landfall. As most should know, the Category is based solely on windspeed. Despite the downgraded winds and Category, Katrina's size, impact area, and storm surge were all just as...

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

Sounds easy when you aren't in the bullseye. There can be a lot of other priorities to deal with in front of a storm, a replacement metal and composite toy might not be one of them. Your home, business, family, animals, etc. can be a lot more important than your aircraft. When I used to live...

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

From the latest update. I would not discount the impacts of a hurricane this size outside of the storm surge. God willing the winds decrease, but this storm is unprecedented and will be a killer. RAINFALL: Rainfall amounts of 6 to 12 inches, with localized totals up to 18 inches, are expected...

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

Not necessarily true. High winds, tornadoes, flash flooding from heavy rain, etc., can be just as bad a killer. Asheville didn't get hit by the storm surge. A tree falling on your house can be just as deadly as a flood.

    Florida in Crosshairs Again…. Milton

I can imagine, only one way out of Florida. At least there is still a little time. Only problem is everyone that waits until the last minute, it will get worse. Wonder if anyone would take their chances and head south to Miami or the Keys to get away from this one.

The size and strength of this thing, nearly the entire Florida peninsula should be evacuated.

    Ooops wrong movie

Maybe not quite the same as this situation, but I have noticed the movie selections on the inflight entertainment can be...surprising. R-rated movies relatively graphic in nature, and your screen isn't exactly private. Of course you could always download whatever you want to your I-device and...
