Comanche Quirk - How to solve it?

The Piper Comanche has a weird electric set up. The electric fuel pumps (on their own switch), nav lights and interior lights (on the same switch) and turn & bank coordinator (on its own switch) all go through the same breaker. When I have the nav lights and turn & bank coordinator on and then...

Boston area airports for my Mooney

I’m planning the same trip but later in July. i’m flying into KORH. It’s outside the adsb airspace since i don’t have adsb out. car rentals are plentiful and apparently they have customs on location so convenient for us coming from north of the border.

I joined the ranks of the financially irresponsible last week

Hey, I have an expensive hobby, too. Just thought I'd mention it since you want to give away part of the inheritance. LOL.

These folks need to be stopped.

Our Supreme Leader has an issue with the word "mankind" nowadays. It's not inclusive enough:

    Domestic Cat in GA plane

We have some for both pets but they don't keep them on. They usually take them off before we even reach the run up area. Other than during takeoff for a few minutes, the noise level isn't very high on our plane. In cruise with the prop at 2,300 rpm and MP at 21, my wife and I could have a...

    Domestic Cat in GA plane

We frequently travel with our cat and dog. Cat is always in a crate. Dog next to him on the backseat. Once we reach cruising altitude, both fall asleep until we start the descend. Never had an issue with the cat flying despite the fact he was 7 when he first flew in a GA plane. He doesn’t seem...

    Done . . .

Insurance (health, life for the most part) sales was my first career. Dirtiest industry I know and I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole again. @dbahn I don't think we ever had the pleasure to meet or even interact/communicate directly on here but I do remember some of your valuable posts and...

[NA] I don't understand One Drive

I didn't read through all the responses so maybe someone already said it. That's what you get for using Microsoft instead of Apple (or even Google) products ;-)

    Bouncing like Tigger

Three weeks ago when I was doing my flight review, I made 5 landings (one via 180 power off) and they were all so smooth. Some of the best landings I've ever made in the Comanche. Today, I went out for a day trip and both landings were terrible. Bounce fest galore. I think I know what went...

    Advice for loooooong cross-country

Are you alone or with family/friends? 6-8 hours in a Cherokee (or most GA aircraft for that matter) per day for several days is rough. I'd do it if it's just one day but when I do multi-day trips, I keep it to 6 hours max, preferably more like 4-6. But I guess everyone's tolerance level is...

    Time between filing and flying

In Canada, when you file with less than 30 minutes notice, a pop up comes up saying “departure is in under 30 minutes, are you sure this is correct” or something in that realm. You can simply click “yes” and still file. I’ve filed as little as 10 minutes before departure and ATC had my flight...

    Hot plate question

Just because you don’t plan on flying near icing doesn’t mean that you may not encounter some due to wrong forecast, unexpected diversions, etc. in which case you may actually be glad to have the equipment on board.

Want To Buy Looking for B3D32C412-C

I talked to them. It's several weeks of turnaround time and driving it there is far from where I live. I would consider flying it there, getting it done and then flying back home but I don't want to stay in Michigan (or elsewhere) for several weeks waiting around. But, I wouldn't mind spending...

Want To Buy Looking for B3D32C412-C

How long door to door? I will have to ship the prop from Canada. Everyone I’m asking up here is quoting 6(ish) weeks plus shipping. My mechanic said that’s optimistic.

Want To Buy Looking for B3D32C412-C

I am looking for a McCauley three blade prop B3D32C412-C. Must be under 10 years old or last overhaul must be less than 10 years ago. My current propeller is coming up to the Canadian, mandatory 10 year overhaul. Having shopped around for overhauls, it seems like overhaul will take longer than...

    Name my dog

I have nothing for you when it comes to names. I'm terrible at that. Anything that needed a name (our pets, our companies, etc.), my wife came up with the names. However, wanted to drop a note to say congrats! He's a beautiful boy. Dogs are the better humans. Glad he found a great home :-)

Coastline Sightseeing Flight out of KECP - Northwest Florida Beaches

I have flown the coastal sightseeing from ECP. Just let tower know and ask for flight following. They’ll guide you. When I did it, they pointed out restricted airspace. Easy peasy if you have flight following.
