Seems someone should ask the FAA to weigh in on this. MDs can do zoom consults, triage, prescribe remotely. They can make a decision on what needs to be done in person. In the modern world, seems like a mechanic could do the same. If I ever get my IA, will ask for FAA opinion as I build out...

In this digital world, is it possible to perform work supervised by an A/P or IA on video or live feed that they can view and approve/sign off work? Why is this not being done in some fashion?

New alternator came today, hoping the shop can get a wired made for me. I feel a bit foolish after a chance encounter. I was looking for the wire to go directly to the battery proper, not anywhere else. The route looked like it would be convoluted and difficult so I did not look very hard...

On the oil leak, was at G3X pressure sensor fittings. Did not note any thread sealant, hopefully now fixed.

I thought the windshield was supposed to float? Wouldn't that be adhering surfaces? My read of things is felt is what gets used upfront, that stuff on the side winders.

Yeah, it really would have been better if the paint shop did that, especially since I told them to do anything best needed to be done during painting. I'd bought the Vans aircraft practice kits but never bought tools, now I think I will. Had a class with EAA that we changed and did not attend.
