    High Altitude Flight test

I’ve never been at 17,000 feet better safe than sorry How does your heater work at 17,000?

    High Altitude Flight test

After looking at the winds and temps aloft, I think I will add extra clothes, gloves, and a hat to my list.

Im just trying to think things thru on the ground before doing this. Reading about high altitudes misadventures online has me consider it.

    High Altitude Flight test

For reference: https://www.airplains.com/cessna172-180hp I would like to experience my plane at higher altitudes prior to doing some West Coast flying. I've been to 9,000 before. We have bottled O2, a finger probe SpO2 monitor, and the O2 is delivered with little bursts upon inspiration...

Flight from NC to Washington state

OK, I've just made reservations for commercial air travel, thanks for the pointers. If we never make it back to the area, are there sight seeing flights worth the money? Maybe seaplane stuff to San Juan Islands?

Flight from NC to Washington state

We might just fly commercial for this but I have to look at flying it myself. C172 180 hp. I’d love an airport to airport route suggested. Most of what I am looking at seems to need lots of flying above 10k I’ve read about flying by roads? I want to visit Vans, Bushliner, and try to see a plane...

He/she could just relay the CFI to this journal for a get to know you read and flight recap.

    Night currency

My spouse is away so I figured it would be a good time to go do my 3 night takeoff and landings. I familiarized myself with the rules with regards to the proper times, thought to go up a bit early during civil twilight, get used to the night sky again. I have not flown at night in maybe two...

    Upgrading Saratoga panel

I've learned to accept no time estimates from anyone. These things are just unreliable. My avionics took MONTHS longer than expected, even after everything was on hand.

    Upgrading Saratoga panel

The G3x, doesn't it have its own source of charts or navigation also? Not sure about the other. Legal for VFR navigation. I agree TOGA button, careful where you put it, mine is too close to other things and has been hit by mistake twice... I do not understand why people put in two GPS units...

What kept you going through training?

Some of what you’re posting rings a bell with me But it also seems almost like a lack of good emotional self-control. I’m not sure if that was the case with me. As a very young man, I was living a life in a rut one of the things that I did that ended up being a good emotional hook to prove my...

    Data plates- manufacturing plates

I want to learn more about these, and regulations. My paint shop just mailed me a homemade plate with plane serial number and type, along with an engine plate (180HP Airplanes for a 172). They said they forgot to install them after cleaning, as I did not have them clean the plane. So I guess I...

Gold Seal IFR course- anything else needed?

Wait, nobody has mentioned the "S" word yet? Other than that, time, money, patience, diligence. What I think would have helped here, focus on links for known power settings and IFR practice patterns. You can do these right now, on your own...
