Curious about “no signs posting fees”?? You certainly don t expect signs on the ramp area like you would see standing tall at the grocery store, right? You admitted you did not enter the FBO, which may have had the fees prominently posted. Seems to me like you were trying to wiggle (steal)...

“Down” is only because we generally orientate the map with north up. The map can be orientated in any direction.

I was not *completely* comfortable until after the checkride, and instructing for a few weeks. I also never TRULY mastered the crosswind landing technique until I was instructing.

As a captain for a major air carrier… I leave it to the flight attendants if the gate agent gets that far. I’m constantly bombarded with silly stuff from the FA’s. I give them full authority, and I will back them.

Flaps have varied depending on type of airplane, but have always dropped gear 1/2 dot below glide slope.

I find most dedicated CD frequencies are unmanned, and ground, or even tower monitors. I believe they do want you to call, but if you don’t ground (or tower) accomplishes the same thing. Even CD frequencies at large airports are somewhat deserted, as most airliners have PDC.
