    New Garmin Avionics 3/25/19

    > But you are right - I think it's a bad day for Aspen. Can't see that... Yet anyway... The fact that the Aspen drops into the existing holes is a huge plus cap… We would get hosed having the Garmin dealer install the G3X. Mega $$$$$ Garmin went with the LCD display.. again, and no battery...

    Trio vs TruTrak

EASY NOW! :) I did not say that at all... My source only said (and I related) the Aspen has had to deal with a problem and had to apply resources the last few months to fix it NOW.. This was unexpected and they had to deal with it. TT and Aspen have been playing together for at least a year...

From another forum... With the authors permission... :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Spoke to TT on Monday on another matter, but got this... (At least this part has been settled... ) What we can expect... Barometer synch Heading (from whatever...

Hmmm... I checked the PA-28 for those numbers... Almost all of their (existing) kits are on sale, some at very deep discounts... ……………….. Cap

    Trio vs TruTrak

Works some good doesn't it! On one flight I multitasked ours with a "direct to" (170 Degree turn) in a "Alt Set" climb hard enough to activate the "Min Spd" function, gave it a 45 degree "deviation" opposite the turn, let it settle on the dev heading, then told it to resume the "direct to"...

    Trio vs TruTrak

    >>the (Trio) stc install kit which is on sale for $1755. Normally it's $2750 That's almost a 40% discount... below their cost.. Ruh roh… :( I can see 10 - 15% discounted sale prices as a sales incentive, but 40%? Cap

    Trio vs TruTrak

BOTH TT and Trio are capable of autotrim, neither are STC'd for it. TT have the autotrim system already designed and are marketing it to the experimental guys. I expect we will see it sometime in the future. The TT can also operate electric trim systems in most aircraft, but not STC'd for it...

    Trio vs TruTrak

Hmmmm… You need to do some more research if your choice is price sensitive.. The Trio is $3500 PLUS the install kit/STC for $2750. That makes it $6250. The STC/ Kit is on sale now for $1000 less, so that makes it close but a bit more.... Be aware that the Trio install is more than double the...

Aspen Evolution vs Dual Garmin G5's

FWIW...' I dug out the Schematic on the Aspen.. The RSM is powered from the E5 and gets picked up by the battery in case of ship's power failure... The magnetometer is in the RSM... Cap

Aspen E5 arrived! Unboxing photos and info

In dealing with TruTrak, I have noticed that they are willing to (albeit reluctantly) put the brakes on if needed to be ABSOLUTELY SURE that all the planets are in order before they ship product.. They will probably acquire a "production" E5 to test to be sure... Things have a way of changing...

    Trio vs TruTrak

They should have sent it through you! Sooo much fun unboxing new toys! PLEASE post here how it goes.. The E5 is now the most likely solution for our Warrior... I especially like the future options if we MAKE $$$ available.. (well, we can dream..... right? ) >>TruTrak will be able to get...

    Trio vs TruTrak

Oh YA! THAT makes a lot of sense... :) (Cap reaching for checkbook…! ) That MIGHT remove the requirement for a backup AI ? …. if the #2 had its own battery? Might the vac system go? Hmmmmm…. Cap

    Trio vs TruTrak

I tend to agree.. I think I might look at putting the $$$ toward a second E5 and use that real estate for other functions , map etc... But something to think about... Cap

    Trio vs TruTrak

See it.... Hmmmm… That would do fine... ? Not sure I would go the extra $$$ just to have the "Normal" HSI picture in addition to that... . Between that and the "magenta line" I think I could keep things on track.... Cap

    Trio vs TruTrak

Ya... In early January Corey said they are mostly all presold and piled high. Must be an awful cost to them as well.. costs that any small business does not need. Not to mention working around piles of product that customers have paid for are waiting for.. A year ago for the PA-28s, same thing...
