Autopilot on Test day (Vizion TruTrak)

Disconnect it at 700ft and hand fly the rest for checkride. It will probably be "failed" at some point anyway.

Autopilot on Test day (Vizion TruTrak)

The limit is 700ft....however the TT WILL fly it all the way to the ground. Nobody will know outside the plane if you have it on still or not.

Looking for advice from Bonanza 35 owners current or previous

I bought a V35 as the whole ruddervator debacle was starting to surface. I too was scared but I contacted and joined the ABS and talked with Mr. Turner. He informed me that fleet wide the average is about 12 ruddervators need replacing in a year and those are usually on not well maintained...

    Slowish crankage

What kind of starter is it and when was the last time it was overhauled? I just went down this path...slow cranking and hard hot starts. New to me plane, I sent my starter (energizer) out to modified aircraft accessories and came back like new. Slow starting was gone but my lack of hot start led...

    Slowish crankage

When your prop pauses do you still hear the starter spinning? If not I'd guess it's not the adapter. I recently had the joy of replacing my starter adapter on my io-520. It actually wasn't bad at all. Took me 2 hours start to finish and I bout an overhauled unit from Niagara so under a grand I...

Mooney or Bonanza? (Let's start a debate!)

Bonanza, I've flown an A36 and I've flown a mooney M20C. The build and feel of a beechcraft is next level. Because of that I bought a V35 and never looked back. A36 is too rich for my blood plus the 35 is faster. So my vote, bonanza!

    I thought I wanted a Mooney...

I havent flown many planes in my life but ill say this....there is nothing like a bonanza! They are so comfy, fast, and just an all around joy to fly. Like you I came from a cherokee 180 and the first time in a V35 I was hooked, nothing that I have previously flown can even come close. I've...

Tuskegee Airman National Historic Site - now open

There is literally nothing to eat there. That was a monkey drop off point for me and I think we drove a bit and settled on subway. Yuck!! Or maybe we just didn't search hard enough. Haha

    Where to buy appliances

The problem now is you can hardly find any appliance in stock. At least the ones people actually want.

    C-172 over 100K

I am year 2 into a 67 V35 ownership. I came over from a cherokee 180 which I paid $380 a year for insurance. First year Bo insurance was $2200!! Second year Bo insurance was $2100 so I upped the hull a bit and back at $2200! Hahaha ugh but it's worth it to own an iconic plane. Will see what next...

Recommendations for Accelerated IR Course in the West

I did a 10 day course (with 1 day off to recoup, so 9 days really) at American flyers, and while super intense, I made it through (it was bad rough! Haha) If going 10 day I recommend not doing it close to home. Go away so you have no distractions. 10 days completed with a decent amount of IMC...

    Any military aviators on here?

When you get here hit me up. I'm a short 20 min flight to meridian and visit there often for the free ice cream and waffles.

    Contractors, assemble!

That makes it harder but man I'd have a hard time thinking the TJI's would be sagging unless they are way to small for the span. No cracks in the ceiling down in the basement? When you tried pushing the cabinet back up against the wall did you remove the attaching screws first? Does the lack of...

    Contractors, assemble!

Gotcha, yeah don't let them cheap out, they likely try to caulk it and slap up a piece of trim! Sigh Can you see the joist when down in the basement? If so it is level? If bowing down get a floor jack and a 4x4 and push it up till level and see how cabinet looks.

    Contractors, assemble!

Most builders offer a 1 year warranty. Call up the builder and inquire. Less than a year old I'd say it's the builders problem. Do you think it is separating the whole length? Can you physically push it back in place and if so is it level? If so push it back up level, locate the studs and...
