Weight and balance problem - determining the CG?

Avogadro's number.... 6.023 x 10^23rd power..... Sac: Laughing with you and not at you.....People's names trip me up more than anything else. Until I meet you several times, I'm liable to either mangle your name or not be able to recall it ten minutes after you tell me. My wife pokes at me...

Non aviation career shift/ mid life crisis

Racerx: This might not be your bag on welding, but the gentleman that Steve spends the day with, has some very interesting tidbits about operating his welding business. Especially about business costs and the decisions on taking on work vs the cost to do the work. Worth the hour or so to watch.

    Castle nuts and cotter pins

As an FYI, everyspec.com has most of the specifications for hardware and processes on their website and it's free...What they don't have, IHS.com has even more, but it's a fee site unless your company has an account.

    Aero Commander twins pros/cons

The factory did that flight during some hearings on aircraft safety, The prop was removed, the a/c flown to DC, did a demo and they reinstalled the prop for the flight home. If I remember correctly Ted Smith was one of the pilots...Ted later designed the Aerostar for Piper.

    Aero Commander twins pros/cons

FYI.....Air Force 1 is not any particular aircraft, but a callsign. Any fixed wing aircraft with POTUS onboard uses AF 1 for a callsign, with the lone exception being when Bush landed on the carrier and that a/c carried the callsign Navy 1.

    [NA] Dropping provider, preserving emails

Download and install Thunderbird and download the entire lot of emails. I run Thunderbird, download all emails and have it keep copies of them online at the same time. Takes about 30 minutes to download all 16,000+ messages when I've had to bring down the entire batch before.

    Auto: tires

Been running Goodrich KO2's on the 3/4 ton diesel SuperDuty. They seem to last long enough that I run out of warranty on them. A little noisy on the highway, but the truck does get off into the dirt enough that strictly highway tires would be a problem.

    SeriusXM Question

Had to write a filter rule on my email to deal with them. Bought a used vehicle back in July and have been offered enough free trials to last more than a year so far.

[NA] Getting car running after sitting for years

I'd also do an oil and filter set change fairly soon. Look at the tires too...if the date code is over 6 years and any sidewall cracking is showing, then new tires. Drive it.

    Used Mustang

5 previous owners and I'd be looking heavily at why it was turned so often. My wife's Audi had 6 previous owners, but the one guy bought it back twice after selling it the first time. He was also the original buyer on it.

    Finding a rigger

Try John Storrie, in Denton, Tx. John used to do our commercial and military chutes. Haven't seen or talked to him in a number of years, but I think he still has the chute side of his business still going. Try 940-484-2222. If he can't help, he should be able to put you in contact with someone...

Can you log cross country for all flights in a day if they were conducted in different airplanes?

Sounds almost like the zoo a friend’s son went thru getting his ticket. Flew the Cub for PP, hoped out of it and into the T-6 for his HP check, then into the Baron for his multi. After lunch, into the Grumman TBM for his LOA, then to the PBY for his multi, seaplane and type ride.... All on his...

Battery replacement in a GNS430W - Looking for shop to do it

Opening up a piece of avionics that is ESD susceptible is NOT a routine battery replacement. Proper ESD mat, grounding straps and a known to be good ground are required. Even touching any of the ESD components while not properly grounded can introduce a latent or immediate electrical failure...
