Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

Except the FEMA person wasn't delivering anything at all, but going to assess damage to a specific location. I never said anything about getting rid of FEMA or anything else, but that we needed to change their attitude from what it is now, to one where they actually serve the people that they...

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

If they are that timid to listen to and understand and process what the locals are saying, then they have no business being in a disaster area. My God, they could be hit by lightning in the rain, they could fall down getting out of their car and so on....They need to regain a little common...

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

If you actually read the article, the residents were using the road and getting supplies in and out on their own. The road was not functioning as normal, but was passable with some care. There are lots of great people in FEMA, but you also have a huge number that either are so wrapped up in...

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

FEMA can't help a town due to a road sign....More reason FEMA needs to be overhauled and and staffed with people that have a "make things work" attitude over what is seemingly prevalent out in the field...

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

If you watch his video, it was the local fire guy that wanted him arrested. The Michigan crew wanted his help.

Only place that I ever worked that had a "Shoot First, ask questions after the smoke clears" policy. Any of the security teams had the ability to call for the launch of armed fighters from Nellis and give the freedom to fire on targets. Made you darn careful what you did and gave you good...

aterry: We might have crossed paths at FTW...I moved to the program from Block 60, about the time BF-2 came out of Fuel Ops. Only travel I did for the company was a quickie out to Tuscon and back for one day test. Did spend several months at NNSS, northwest of Vegas, long before I started at GD.

Only live missile stuff I ever got to play with, was some parts for a payload fairing on an Atlas 2. They were instrumented for a test at PlumBrook and then that fairing was flown a few months later. Everything else was captive dummies, sometimes with active seeker/guidance systems. I was...

    Lockheed Martin

Even though I had an engineering title, I did very little down that path. Only true engineering work I did was to design a quick look data pod that would take up to 24 channels of data and drew no power from the aircraft. Hang it on a pylon, wire in the data stuff and go fly. It got built a few...

Always thought that program was used to hide another even blacker program.... aterry1067: I did the Flight Test thing for about 7 years, but was on the Instrumentation side of things, We still were supporting F-111 E4 at Eddie's Airpatch when I went back to the factory side of things.

    HOW DID THEY FLY WARBIRDS??

They progressed from a Stearman to a BT then a T-6 and on to the Mustang or other fighter. By the time they go to the fighters, they had 250-300 hours of military flight training, no matter how much civilian time they had. One uncle went from cubs to L-5's, while his brother went from Steamans...

    Big Hangar Roof Questions

70 foot wood trusses are going to be massive. The material cost alone would most likely exceed the cost of steel trusses and their hanging costs. Additionally, it would require some heavy engineering for a block wall to support wood trusses and all the stresses they will impart on the walls. The...

If I'm in one of my trucks, then I have to walk up to the ATM in the drive thru, as it's the only one at the bank, and the security poles are set too close to get in without hitting every one of them..They were set at about 76" apart and the smallest truck is 79" wide....Idiot architects......
