    Drop-in 100LL Replacement "Impossible"?

My understanding is that the ASTM standard for 100LL requires there to be lead in it. I found an ASTM standard for unleaded avgas, but apparently it only applies to fuels for testing. https://www.astm.org/d7960-21.html

    Drop-in 100LL Replacement "Impossible"?

    Medical Denied, Need advise

If the sport pilot previously was denied a medical certificate, then yes, they had to submit themselves to to the FAA's medical bureaucracy prior to solo. What I was referring to is the fact that once the person became a sport pilot, no further involvement with the FAA bureacracy is required in...

Oshkosh: Mosaic for Private and Sport Pilots session on Wed

During the two years during which I exercised sport-pilot privileges, this didn't inconvenience me at all in areas of high terrain, because the VFR altitude rules don't apply while climbing or descending. There is a theoretical issue with the plane not being able to climb as fast as the terrain...

Do you believe that the FAA is only pretending that they're going to adopt new rules, or are you talking about the calls for them to make the proposed rules even more permissive?

    GPS backup

The problem is that each frequency is used by multiple stations around the country and around the world. It sounds like your database would need to include a unique set of bearings, frequencies, and hours of operation for every pixel on the chart. Maybe the size of the database could be made...

    GPS backup

I guess a DF antenna could be installed for that purpose. The receiver would need to have a database of station frequencies and locations. The receiver would need to know the last GPS position in order to differentiate between broadcast stations on the same frequency.
