Aero Commander 200D down at KDVO

That picture is horrifying. I hope the impact killed him and not the fire.

    Domestic Cat in GA plane

When cats get in unfamiliar situations, they look for a place where they can hide. We once traveled in a motor home one summer with one, and couldn't find it one day. It finally was found inside a pillowcase that also had the pillow still in it. In an airplane, I could see it taking up...

    Skydive accident. One dead

Falling out of the sky is a pretty good description of the flight plan of a skydiving flight after the last jumper has exited. It’s not uncommon for the drop plane to beat the jumpers to the ground.

    WWII warbirds.

Nah, we just round tripped to Iceland on a 737 Max 8, if that didn't do us in, I'm safe now. Besides, it's a joint venture with Saab, hopefully the Swedes will banish the bean counters back to somewhere far away from the engineers.

    WWII warbirds.

Not one of those dinosaurs for me. T-7 Red Hawk is what I want. Can't argue with 33,000 fpm initial climb rate.

    What's For Dinner?

I have come to the conclusion that the single best way to cook vegetables is in a grill wok. We just cut them up, toss them with olive oil, and grill them in the wok for about 20 minutes over medium heat.

Anyone buy a plane in Georgia?

Under the previous rules, if you bought a car from a dealer, you paid sales tax at the rate in effect in your county of residence. In addition, you paid an annual ad Valorem tax to your county, determined by the rate in your home county and the value of the vehicle. The revised rules eliminated...

Anyone buy a plane in Georgia?

You paid Title Ad Valorem Tax on your car, not sales tax. That shouldn’t be applicable to an airplane.

    Therma Pen

This is one of our favorite ways to use ground chicken: https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ree-drummond/buffalo-chicken-burgers-5617667 . You may want to back off on the butter, this recipe would make Paula Deen seem like an ascetic.

The pork shoulder/Boston Butt on the grill is currently at 187 degrees with an hour to cook. I usually shoot for 195 degrees, although a lot of folks go a little hotter.

Anyone Need an Inch and a half Combo Wrench?

It was a smallish race car. We used a big spherical bearing because it fit in the stock control arm with just a little honing. The optimal thing to do would be to cut off the ends and weld on some smaller ends and use a small diameter spherical bearing and bolt, but none of us had those...

Anyone Need an Inch and a half Combo Wrench?

Actually, we bought it. We'd built a race car and wanted to replace the rubber bushings in the rear control arms with spherical bearings. The spherical bearings that were a close fit for the control arms took a large diameter bolt and that bolt had a inch and a half head. Most folks, I suspect...

I have a SnapOn inch and a half combo box and open end wrench that I don’t need. Anybody have use for such a tool. It does have the initials “RP” engraved on it. Free to the first person in the 48 states who replies, I’ll pay the shipping.

    Tesla Pickup Unveil

Secret mutant child. It looks to me that a fairly minor accident could be very expensive to repair. How do you fix a large panel of bare metal?
