    Engine

Not sure if it's the same for the O-360 but my TIO-540 that I just received took one full year.

So you believe this is a free country. I will never travel again.

I didn't realize it was that old until I saw a response from Wayne Bower.

    Cessna 205 Down near KCPT

Sorry for this loss. If you're referring to the WX-10A as weather radar, it is not. It's a StormScope and only detects electrical activity associated with convective activity. It requires correct interpretation to be useful in avoiding storms.

Supply chain and Overhauls. Who is affected and how?

I'm expecting a Factory Reman sometime in the next month or so. I've received three emails moving delivery 1-2 weeks later. I ordered it one year ago.

    PropGuard on a new Prop?

I've used it for the last 15 years. I repaired it a couple of times and completely replaced it during an annual about five years ago. When I have my prop overhauled or replaced in a few months, I'm putting it on immediately. It really does keep the leading edge in good shape. Here are a...

    Backup AHRS suggestions

I agree with this. I tried to use the Sentry panel on my recent ICC. Found it very difficult to use. I did a lot better with my partial steam gauges.

KWVI Watsonville MId Air, Multiple Fatalities

Sounds right about the low pass. The last ADS-B hit was 129 knots right before he went into the hangar.

Mechanic shortage worse than pilot shortage

The Davis Aerospace Technical High School, which used to be on the Detroit City Airport property, currently has 20 students enrolled. When I worked at City Airport in the early 1980's, most of the mechanics on the field were graduates of this school.

    Weird Annual Billing

Well, yes and no. The flat annual rate for my plane is $2400. AD research and inspection only. I pay that no matter what. So, yes, in that it doesn't matter who removes and reinstalls the panels, I pay the $2400. No, because, for example, when I replaced the wingtip landing light lenses, they...

    Weird Annual Billing

I totally get it. I wasn't complaining about the autopilot shop (they don't know me), just pointing out the big difference in the two shops. I'm a service technician in a different industry and completely understand the hovering, which is why I "joked" about the labor rates. I'm so grateful...

    Weird Annual Billing

Ahh yes...the old: $100 an hour labor $150 if you watch $200 if you help

    Weird Annual Billing

The flat rate my shop charges is for AD research and inspection. It's just the initial base price. I've never had an annual that was only an inspection. There was always something to be done. I'll never complain though because they let me assist, which is apparently rare these days. I had...

    VOR Check

Luckily, my Garmin SL30 has a VOR check record in the system menu. Just have to enter the location and date. The rest is pre populated for me.

    I hate my January annuals

Even 26 weeks is not true. I ordered a Lycoming Reman on 11/23/21 through AirPower and was told 24-26 weeks. I just got an unsolicited email from them (week 30) telling me they have no update for me. Fortunately, I'm still flying.
