    The 300 hour blahs

I'm right at the 300 hour mark. Got my IR immediately after private, commercial immediately after IR. I too was boring quickly with flying and agreed to ferry a 150 from Oregon to Arizona a few weeks ago. That trip required three days to accomplish due weather and break downs. Needless to...

Which portable GPS do I need?

No other Garmin stuff in the plane and I use the iPad for a lot more than just flying. Plus, I really like how easy it is to flight plan on FF and file the plan. For me, the iPad and FF is the clear winner.

Which portable GPS do I need?

I stayed away from the Aera 660 for one reason, the database update cost. While the GPS itself seems to be priced well enough (subjective, of course), one can eclipse the purchase price in just 5 years if the database was updated annually. For that reason alone, I've stuck with the the iPad/FF...

What Commercial ground school should I go with

Because while Sheppard Air is great for the written, it does not prepare you well for the oral portion of the checkride. I used the Gleim Commercial kit for checkride prep and Sheppard Air for the written. Worked well.

Using Garmin Aera 660 to Compliment iPad with ForeFlight

The $150.00/yr. database update is a deal breaker for me. $750.00 for the 660, $150.00/yr for updates, plus $200.00/yr for FF. It's all about perceived value, though.

    Electronic International CHT ungrounded?

Our legacy instruments (such as the C-6 pictured above) require the use of an un-grounded type K thermocouple. Our MVP-50/CGR-30 system can be interfaced with either grounded or un-grounded probes and can be type K or type J.

    BMW Z3 Roadster

Having owned a used BMW, the best advice I could give anyone is NEVER own a BMW without a warranty. Some models are unnecessarily complicated and can cost a fortune to repair. I have no first hand experience with the Z3 and wouldn't want any. Count me in as another huge advocate of the Miata...
