Any skiers/snowboarders here? WTH happened to lift prices?

I live in Bend, OR (Mt. Bachelor) and ski at Hoodoo mostly. Bachelor as become too crowded and expensive. I can hit Hoodoo after work for some fairly inexpensive night skiing.

Way in over my head, don’t be me!

Our 1980 911SC is the slowest car we own. Hang on, I think it'll outrun my daughter's Neon. :)

    Pickup Truck Thoughts

We'll be buying a used Ford Powerboost in a couple of years. Great towing capability and mileage. The fact that it can run our travel trailer is a HUGE plus for us. For whatever reason, both my wife and I agree that the Ford drives "easier" than the comparable GM or Ram products.

    Why Can't I Understand Holding Patterns.....@#$%!

Here's one reason. I received and unpublished hold, with left hand turns on my instrument ride. I was flying a DME arc to the ILS and the controller needed spacing for commercial traffic landing on the reciprocal runway. This was after getting a right 360° while outbound from the VOR to the...

Should I buy a plane... or Not?

I'm a 300 hour, CPL w/IFR and I too struggle with my continuing aviation mission. Since I can remember, all I ever wanted to do is become a pilot. Now in my late 40s, having accomplished that mission and own a 20% share in the airplane, I find that I only fly a couple times a year, now that...

    Make DST permanent!

My MOST favorite summer activity is waterskiing after work until 9p! The only way that is possible is with DST. Selfish, I know, but I absolutely love the long summer days. I'm sleeping through the early morning daylight hours anyway. :)

Noted. I'll pass that on to the powers that be. :)

    Electronics International rebates!

The two outboard ports are used for charging at 2.1A. The inboard ports are used for communication ports to download data from our CGR-30P/C. With a simple wiring change, the inboard ports can be converted to charge ports, but they only output 1A, or so.

    Commercial written (mild rant)

+1 on Shepard Air. I used them for both instrument and commercial. Absolutely fantastic if you understand its use. Test prep. Having said that, if you review the explanation for each answer, you'll gain some practical knowledge, as well.

Any tips for finding a doc that will do BasicMed?

Exactly what my physicians did on both my BasicMed. Neither one could find a practical reason for that particular requirement. The resulting exam room humor can be pretty entertaining if you get a good doc, though.

    Electronics International panel pics

Our R-1 ships with two isolator (resistor) values, 79K and 47K. As the magneto wears, so does the signal on the P-lead. As such, the isolator currently installed may have been correct for the output of the mag a couple years ago, but may be attenuating the signal too far now. However, an...

Hello all, We are in the process of updating our marketing material and we were hoping there were a few proud owners out there that would like to share a couple high resolution pics of their panel upgrade using Electronics International instruments. Before and after pics are even better! If...
