    FAA vs Jeppersen charts

I wouldn’t pay for Jepp on my own dime but if given the option I’d take Jepp over government charts any day.

FAA: Pilots should be capable of flying aircraft manually when needed

The average hand flying time on my fleet is 8 minutes. I try to do at least that on every flight. It really doesn’t take much skill to follow a flight director direct to a fix so that gets old quickly. They want us to hand fly more but then they put restrictions in our manual like the AP has to...

    Airliner Deicing Procedure?

Deicing can be done at the gate, after pushback or at a remote deicing pad. It doesn’t take long to cause delays when deicing is in effect. Lines can be long and in really bad cases, you may exceed your holdover time and have to get sprayed down again. Type I is a deice fluid and works to get...

Quitting before completion of training is on your PRIA now. I think that changed after the Atlas crash. But yea, I agree, 1 or 2 training failures is usually a non issue

    Update about AggieMike88

Yea sim world is nothing like real world. A lot of the instructors haven’t been on the line in a long time and they just hit the line once a quarter do get their landings in so their experiences may not be in line with what current line pilots are dealing. In fact, the sims were kind of the...

    Address Change

It’s not necessary to get a new license. I wouldn’t bother paying the fee just for them to print out a new license with your correct address. If you get a new rating, your new plastic will have your current address.

    No Polarization Sunglasses

There must be. I could wear my polarized prescription sunglasses all day in a Cirrus without any issues. Also the CRJ was fine unless I turned my head a certain angle. 737, 757, and 767 I have to wear my non polarized prescription sunglasses otherwise I wouldn’t be able to see any screens or out...
