    IFR Clearance you Cannot Follow

This happened all the time when flying from Long Island to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. I’d just ask clearance for a different route over land and they were happy to accommodate.

    Sheppard Air reviews…

It’s the best/easiest prep. I think if you score below a 90 they give you your money. At least they were offering that when I took the written.

    Sheppard Air reviews…

Used it for the ATP written back in 2016. You won’t learn anything but you’ll pass the test guaranteed lol.

Got a Jet Job...and Some Motivation for Others

Regionals are fat on FOs. They need captains so 1500 hours doesn’t really help you get hired anymore unless you have an ATP written then you can apply to Spirit or frontier

    Photo ID for domestic(commercial) flights

You never really needed an ID to travel as long as they can confirm your identity. I’ve never forgotten my ID but I’ve heard it’s not really a big deal. You’ll just get extra screening and they’ll ask you questions to try to confirm your identity “Forgot Your ID? In the event you arrive at the...

All of the online FIRCs are basically the same. I’ve been using Ace CFI because they were the cheapest

    Is the Hiring Boom Over?

Surplus of regional FOs. Still short on regional CAs and major/legacy FOs. Last captain I flew with does hiring at DL and said 2026 is going to the cut off for the front end of our hiring wave. After that, guys won’t have a good of seniority progression as those hired previously.

Do they put freight on RJs?

Not regularly. Most of the cargo bins were filled with checked luggage. Not much room for much else.

    Piper down in Lindenhurst NY

Wow. I have some hours in that plane and it was owned by the guy that did my PPL. Not sure if he/the flight school still owns it.

(NA) Not happy with house price?(NA

We just closed a few months ago and got 6.75% which isn’t ideal but we had absolutely no bidding war. We put in offer in after we viewed the house, owner countered that night and we accepted the following day. I think the house was on the market for 2 months. We wanted to buy during Covid but I...

Flying for European Airline with FAA commercial??

To add on, even if he was able to get a job overseas, it’s not great. QOL and pay is severely lacking in the EU. I’d just have him CFI or get a job in the US. Building 750 hours won’t take long here, especially if he’s at a somewhat busy flight school.

Regional Airline Applicant with Upcoming Driving Violation. Advice needed!

I agree trying to make your application as squeaky clean as possible, but I wouldn’t lose sleep over this

Regional Airline Applicant with Upcoming Driving Violation. Advice needed!

Lol. One speeding ticket will not affect the OP’s career. There are people who’ve done far worse and are at legacies and majors.

    London/Paris Vacation, must see places?(NA)

The Royal Air Force Museum is worth a visit in London for your aviation kick. I’d recommend the hop on hop off bus in both cities. You’ll be able to hit all the major sights at your leisure. Public transportation is great in both cities. Both are great cities and I wouldn’t spend more time in...
