    ADS-B IN Antenna

Jim, to clarify, I am pondering using a CI 105 antenna to receive 1090 and 978 mhz signals into two separate, independent ADS-B IN receivers. Shouldn't be anything on the coax except RF from the Comant. No?

    ADS-B IN Antenna

Can two ADS-B IN receivers share the same antenna? I would use something like this at the antenna:

    Garmin vs dual question

I keep my Stratux plugged into the cigarette lighter so I haven't noticed the drain from WIFI. I too would like to see more of these devices connect with bluetooth instead of WIFI. Little things, like my tablet unable to automatically connect to an FBOs (or my hangar's) WIFI are totally...

    Garmin vs dual question

I owned a Dual 190 for a year or so and found the ADS-B IN (both UAT and 1090) to be reliable. The box stayed on the glareshield, plugged into a USB power source and never gave me any reliability problems. Not so much the ADHRS features though. I found that when rolling into a turn, the...

PC-12 Crash In South Dakota, 9 dead, 3 survivors (CFIBlizzard?)

Also, on Sunday many try not to work, but to instead spend time with family. They also try not to do any activity that would require others to work on Sunday. If they had a professional pilot in their employ, that might have been a reason to not fly on Sunday.

    Bogus ADSB tracked landing fees

I think there is more to it Jack. The mainland Chinese went through a revolution and the bloodletting of communist indoctrination. They are well adjusted to being part of the collective, whereas Hong Kongers were relatively free individuals until the handover, when they became communists...

    Connect Android to Stratus ESGi

For the android, Avare is very good. It and FltPlan Go are free. Both will communicate with your Stratus.

    Skyview vs. G3X

The Dynon, with one 10" screen, and D10A backup, ADS-B IN, ARC-429 interface, and full Engine Monitoring is $14,396. I can indeed do the installation, with IA supervision. When the autopilot is STC'd, it'll cost $2660 for roll and pitch servos and control panel and if I want electric trim, my...

    Connect Android to Stratus ESGi

I understand it to be the other way around. Most Garmin devices only talk to the Garmin Pilot app and the Garmin Pilot app only listens to Garmin devices. I think when the Stratus first came out, it would only talk to the Foreflight app, but I think that has changed and it now speaks GDL-90...

    Soft field operations

I think 99% of us like and appreciate your videos and certainly don't wish to see you have a prop strike, or anything other than a great time flying.

    Bogus ADSB tracked landing fees

As others have said, those who value $7 are probably more wealthy than those who don't. In my younger days I did a lot of menial work, making much less than $7/hour and today, I still know the value of $7 even though I have lots more, and a plane, and the means to buy whatever I need to keep...

    Engine dehumidifier

Valid point. The only negative I have to say about the Black Max is the way it connects. In my case (Lycoming), I slide a tube up the oil breather, past the ice hole. The tube is stiff 1/4" plastic, with foam rubber glued around it to ensure a tight seal. In time, that foam rubber wears off...

Because they have spent 99% (8750 hours/year vs an average of 75 hours per year) of their life not flying.

    Engine dehumidifier

I bought a Black Max last year and it appears to be well built and does remove water from my engine. It has an air conditioner and heater circuit and doesn't have any desiccant that would need to be changed routinely. Very hands-off, and it costs about the same as a quality desiccant unit...

The measurement certainly matters. Per mile, the safest form of travel would be spacecraft (Mercury, Apollo, Shuttle, etc.), hauling the mail at 17,000 miles per hour. But it is the most dangerous form of travel if looking at deaths/hour.

That data was from the NTSB and they go into it some (fuel sales, etc.). Probably not as accurate as we'd like but the best they (or anyone) could do. But even with a 50% error margin, "12 times greater" would still be significant. Point is, even if the data is skewed 95% down from "best...

I got the "small airplanes are so dangerous talk today"...

Here's a comparison I did 10 years ago. Back then, your chances of dying in a one-hour GA plane is 25 times greater than dying in a one-hour car ride.
