Blood pressure high on medical exam..what happens then?

Do you think you'll be less nervous during an IFE? Of course you could just plan to not stroke out in the Dr's office or during stressful parts of flight.

Panel upgrade with Dynon HDX And Avidyne 540. Just waiting for the AP certificatation

That's great news about the position info. Thanks. I was a bit concerned about that location too, but couldn't find anything in the manual about degrees, etc., so I used the same standard as the GNS430 install, that calls for an annunciator if it is outside of certain angle/distance from yoke...

Panel upgrade with Dynon HDX And Avidyne 540. Just waiting for the AP certificatation

Calum, I am connecting my GTR 225 to one of the HDX serial lines, and I know the Dynon can push frequencies to the 225, and display the 225s frequency on the HDX's top line using Dynon's GTR225 protocol, but here's a question for you... If I were to connect the GTR 225 to my Avidyne (RS232...

Panel upgrade with Dynon HDX And Avidyne 540. Just waiting for the AP certificatation

Lynn, I have a 73 too, SN 349. No room for a second screen unfortunately. I'm finishing up the final wiring now, and don't have any pictures of the finished product, but here's what it'll look like: The left side of the 10" HDX is centered over the yoke, since I'll just about always be...

Panel upgrade with Dynon HDX And Avidyne 540. Just waiting for the AP certificatation

Looks great Georgey. Glad you posted it. I'm finishing up my 177RG right now and am also putting my Baro/Hdg/Alt Knob Panel and AP Panel (blank for now, like yours) right above the engine controls. My thoughts were that they'd be easily accessible to the hand. Yours is the first I've seen...

    Don't be this guy...

The COB probably had you figured for a young sensitive type and just wanted to have a little fun pushing your buttons. Obviously worked.

    Wheelchair Plane Options

My wife is in a wheelchair and I've owned a fixed gear Cardinal (177B) and currently own a retract Cardinal (177RG). Neither cargo door is big enough to put a wheel chair through. My wife likes to ride up front if the flight is less than an hour, and in the back if longer, so she can stretch...

    New (to me) headset maker

I've had Halos since 2009 and love them, but if they had ANR, I'd like them even better. I have to say though, the ANR L2s probably lack quality. A company that won't bother proof reading (or hiring someone to localize) their ad/web page probably brought the product to market cutting corners...

I'm still trying to think of a name and nose art. The two finalists are Desire Flyer, and The Zephyr.

Intro and approach to ownership (Chicken/Egg)

Bug, My experience (only two locations/iterations) aligns with Dave's. Hangars do seem to come available once you have a plane. I think landlords (FBOs, etc.) see you as serious and not just a gum flapper when you show up with a plane. Having said that... Consider buying a 172, PA28, or...

New AOPA Flight Planner available today 4/22/2020

The new, revved up iFlightPlanner looks to be the same as the old, free version on iflightplanner.com. It appears that the new free version will be tuned down significantly, with the old free version now $49/year. Since leaving AOPA, I've been using iflightplanner but I guess I'll have to find...

New AOPA Flight Planner available today 4/22/2020

I quit AOPA a couple of months ago and they are spamming me with offers weekly. But I got this flight planner email today and followed the email link to check it out, and there was a link to renew membership for $59 instead of $79. Is it $59 now?
