I find this extraordinary: the CEO is also the test pilot

well, at least he proved everybody wrong that said he'd never be ****.

CPL stuff: Private, Non-common, common carriage ... oof

And, quite frankly, anything 121-related requires an ATP anyway.

CPL stuff: Private, Non-common, common carriage ... oof

Agreed…the context here is “what can you do with a Commercial certificate (assuming you pass the checkride.)” you’ve got “stuff you can do” and “stuff you can’t do” as the major divisions.

Important aspects of flying (outside of passing the checkride) that a pilot should learn for PP.

So fuel management accidents are acceptable in certain airplanes? To me it simply says you’re not the only one in the wrong airplane.

The "Back in my day" Thread

Never. We had rotary phones and dealt with the operator for collect calls.

If that’s too complex for you, you’re in the wrong airplane.

If you’re too task saturated to deal with fuel and you’re continuing flight, you’ve got an ADM problem.

Air Blue crash - captain with 25,000 hrs just as bad as some private pilots

still not a chain with one link, tho, I bet.

    Log book theft?

He's lying. There is no "law" regarding aircraft value and logbooks.

Air Blue crash - captain with 25,000 hrs just as bad as some private pilots

The part about the mistake (singular). Not that I clicked on the clickbait, but I’ve never heard of an accident with just one link in the chain.

    Cessna 340A pressurization question

You won’t keep it from leaking completely, but proper maintenance would keep it within specs.

    It's Around Here Somewhere ...

When I was a kid trying to fly radio controlled airplanes, we used to call that a chicken stick. ;)

    Cessna 340A pressurization question

Reducing power would decrease the air coming into the cabin, resulting in a cabin climb if anything. Sounds like he’s got a pressurization system problem.

    Lets make Friday 'Joke Day'!

My grandpa had a bit of a misspent youth…he admitted to hauling water from the creek in order to make a mud hole for cars to get stuck in so that he and his best friend, who just happened to be nearby with a team of horses, could pull them out for tips. He also used to talk about “kids” who...

    COMM Multi Training Completion Question

i believe the R-ATP requires an aviation degree from the college, not specifically the 141 training. HOWEVER, is the 141 training required for your degree program? Probably something you need to check with your academic advisor.

    Cessna 340A pressurization question

Just to clarify, the cabin rate of climb was pegged on the descent side? If so, he passed his pressurization on the way down, and it had nothing to do with power setting.

    Log book theft?

I’d also suggest hiring a mechanic to research ADs and find out what it would cost to get everything redone/redocumented so you have some kind of idea for the direct cost of the logbook issue. Obviously there’s a certain amount of “blue sky” value that will play in as well, but at least you’ll...

    It's official... BasicMed expanded

Every time Basic Med is abbreviated this way, I think about when we were kids calling each other a “BM” for Big Mouth. My aunt informed us that BM stood for Bowel Movement.
