    Meat eaters need not reply

I'm a meat eater, but I do won a Chili cookoff in the "other" category once with a vegan Chili (Tempeh-based). Now anytime anybody asks I refer to it as my "award-winning" chili recipe.

    Bose A30 Headset

I think you will find that you can hear the stall horn just fine and you'll hear anomalies with the engine even better with the ANR full on. I was flying one time with my lightspeeds and I could hear this clank. I pulled them off to see if I could hear the clanking better but I couldn't...

    Aircraft Weighing Service Cost

I did my own after the engine swap. The plane was already defueled, and we had put everything back together. Jack each wheel up and slide the scale under. Get the level out and make sure she's level. Read the numbers. Since the shop exclusively does Navions, he already devised a...

GA transportation of (personal) firearms and ammo

A concealed carry permit is a way to call attention to your some states. They put the fact that you have one in the online records and many states make it a condition of reciprocity to require that information be shared. Couple of high profile cases in MD where those who had permits but...

Electric charger station for aircraft at KVBT

I'm not sure the cabin conditioning is a power cord. It could just be a flexible air hose like they use on the ground for airliners (on a much smaller scale here).

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

I give up. You're not interested in understanding or listening. You're dangerously wrong. 18w. on 8500-8 (WHICH OFFICIALLY DOES NOT EXIST ANY MORE) and the equivalent medical history question on MEDEXPRESS ask about "History of nontraffic conviction(s) (misdemeanors or felonies)." It can't...

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

Yes. There is no way to get a private pilot certificate without holding a medical at least once.

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

It most certainly is. All non-traffic (meaning driving not drug trafficking) misdemeanors and felonies MUST be reported.

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

Again, IACRA is not the problem. It's MEDEXPRESS that you are required to disclose your criminal history on. It is going to be disqualifying. All IACRA cares about is whether you're a terrorist (or committed certain very heinous or transportation related crimes).

    Paradise Lost?

Hopefully it will weaken before you get the worst of it, but it's looking like cat 3 when it hits the gulf shore.

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

I understand what you are saying, but you are getting bent around the student pilot certificate issuance which is irrelevant. You can't use the student pilot certificate without a third class medical issuance. You are required to REPORT this conviction on you application (omitting it is...

You try arguing that with Joklahoma city.

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

Oklahoma City is going to assume that PWID implies you were taking the drugs, too. You can argue that you were an absolutely clean sociopath, but that isn't going to get you very far. You're not walking out of an AME office with a third class.

    Lockheed Martin

I was extensively involved in the IEC system the LM was the prime on delivery to the various intelligence groups. If you've ever come across a software program called RemoteView, that was mine. If you used ELT/7000, it had a good chunk of my code in the display chain on it.

Pilot threatened with arrest for helping NC victims of Hurricane Helene...excuse me?

The problem is that FEMA wasn't supposed to be bailing out people for long term support when disaster hits. They're there for short term costs of response. The fact that they've been dragged into helping places that won't buy, can't afford, or do not have proper insurance available is...

    Medication as a teen

School nurses can't prescribe medication. Somewhere in the process he saw a doctor (or perhaps a PA or something with prescribing privileges). The sad fact is that why they CAN, most providers SHOULD NOT be prescribing psychoactive stuff. However, given ADHD+meds+other psychiatric...

    Disqualifying TSA question(s)

The FAA doesn't give a flying fig if you "did your time or not." I have no clue why you think IACRA has anything to do with this. It's just a form filling out program. The big issue is if they think you are a drug user (likely), then it is going to be a protracted process to get a medical...

What would happen if lightning hit one of our planes while flying?

Years ago we were flying back from Oshkosh and went through a thin rain shower. All of a sudden the entire cabin lit up. I thought we'd been struck by lightning but nothing seemed amiss. I turned around and realized what had happened was that my son and decided to take a picture of the...
